You've likely seen me around, I'm the crazy wiki guy :)
Anyway, my goal is to continue to improve the Diablo 3 Wiki (http://www.diablowiki.net/), into incorporating not only classes, monsters, items, gameplay etc, but EVERYTHING related to Diablo, including the novels, and also the community.
One important aspect of the community is the fan artist culture, which is part of the bigger fan creation culture. Fan artist community members are the easiest guys to do something with, however, since they make tangible pieces of art, and it's easy to determine if they are important enough to be featured in the wiki.
It all started last year...
Back in December last year, I started on this vision of reporting on not only official, but community stuff in the wiki as well, and the result is the HolyKnight3000 article there. Much has happened since then, among other things, we now have our very own Fan Art moderator, who also kind of doubles as a Fan Art Community Manager.
Me and HK want to expand on this idea, and in January we helped Delowyn to a wiki page as well. Now we're looking out for more artists that might deserve a spot on the one true Diablo Wiki :)
Objective, not personal, article
Please note that you're free to put whatever you want in the wiki on your user page. A good example is HK's user page, which is drastically different than the wiki article about him: User:Holyknight3000. On your own user pages, you can put anything, but the wiki article about you will be much more objective, and open to edits by anyone, like a regular wikipaedic entry!
The article is the formal information spot about you as an artist, and can't include phrases like "I thought", or "I want".
More Artists Needed!
The next step is of course to look if there are other Diablo-enthusiasts with an artistic fire! We know there are tonnes out there, we just need to get them out of the woodwork!
We haven't exactly decided what would be the requirements to deserve a spot, but this is all related to the community, so everyone here has input in the question! It's not me and HK running the show, we're just here to help.
One thought I just had was that an artists should be very interested in Diablo (of course), and done at least a handful of pieces of art.
Me and HK have a couple of artists in mind for this honour who we will be adding shortly (with the artists' help, hopefully), but do you know of anyone that might be a good candidate? Or do you have a good suggestion of guidelines we all can use when determining some "minimum requirements" to be included in the wiki?
