I'm a bit confused by why you put EU there.

We only play by LAN or TCP/IP. If you're mentioning realm to eliminate ping that's fine, though. :)

I don't care about ping except when really really pushing it on HC in hell. Other times it doesn't really matter. (dolls can be a pain though).

It was mentioned because of habit..I didn't even think about it ...I suppose I could claim it was for the ping thing and therefore appear a bit less silly so, yes,...

I'd like to do some mping, but I have a few questions. I hope this is the right thread to ask in.

I have hamachi installed, and I've created a network. Do most people in the mp forum use hamachi?

Can I have someone just try to connect to a game to see if I've set it up correctly? If my internet connection is good enough, I'll probably host some NM baal runs (walks).

I have several characters at different stages of the game. None really need hell baal runs, but I just finished NM with my poisonmancer, and I intend on leveling with NM baal runs before starting hell.

Edit: actually, I might want to do some baal runs in hell with my frenzy barb or my kicker.

A lot of the problems with hosting is firewall or router issues. I can't host normally because I'm wired into a wireless router. I use a program called Hamachi to host. It circumvents the problem with the router/firewall, but it means that anyone who wants to play while I'm host have to join my hamachi network.

That said, I was the original person to get ahold of Nagisa about MP today. I'd be interested new characters as well. And as explained, I can host, but only via hamachi.

I play SC. I've tried HC a couple times, but its not for me. Maybe the occasional tourny or some such, but nothing serious. The SPF doesn't allow open battle.net games. It is against forum policy. Hacks/cheats are rampant on open battle.net, as are edited items. IP addresses aren't always just broadcasted in the forums. Some players will PM their IP address to other players, or perhaps have a pretty regular play groups (Fast Eddie and Dune play together a lot I think). I've given out my IP, but its only the one hamachi gives me, and thats the only way I can host. I can join games without using hamachi, but I have a decent connection, and I end up hosting a fair amount.

FAM stands for Forum Accepted Mods. This includes RWM/RRM/CRM. It also allows for the modified .dll file

1. I'm not sure if you need the same version of Hamachi as I have or not. I believe I have the newest version.

2. All information needed for my network can be found here in the MP thread. You need to know the Network name and the Network Password.

^ 'Poops has said no. Only 1.12 characters can play with 1.12 characters at the moment... hope you made back-ups/didn't convert ALL your characters into 1.13. The way I see it, as long as you didn't enter a 1.13 game with a 1.12 character, it's still 1.12, even if you've already updated the overall patch to 1.13.
