Not reading the rules is not a valid excuse for breaking them.
Welcome to the Single Player Trading Forum (SPTF). Read the rules, understand the rules, obey the rules. If you have any questions/queries please PM both SPTF Moderators before you post.
Breaking of trade rules results in thread closure, warnings, infractions, temp or permanent bans.
General Rules
Be polite to everyone
Do not post Off-Topic threads or OT posts. If you aren't involved in the deal, stay out of the thread
You may find the Single Player FAQ (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=670054) very helpful and Terms & Abbreviations (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=538888)
Do not “bump” or "spam" your thread. If someone is interested in your items, they will find them
You must have a trade profile
You must always use trade tags - these have changed recently
When trading runes Vex and higher (or items containing them) you must provide a basic history of the rune. This should include screenshots of the drop. For old runes, do this to the best of your memory
Traders have the right to politely decline a trade for any reason
If you are suspicious of a trader PM both Moderators and decline the trade by PM. Anyone sending accusatory PMs about other members will be sanctioned
You agreed to the forum rules (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/faq.php?faq=rules)when you joined. Especially rules 9 & 10
Allowed Mods and Programs
Muling Programs
These are allowed for SP muling and only the multi-instance .dll needs to be declared in your profile (under the mod section). They do not count towards vanilla/FAM status.
ATMA - muling (Important Note:The D2Item file-format, which stores individual items within a separate file with the .d2i extension, IS NOT supported by this community (even though those files can be used within ATMA). Do not trade or swap, or even store, items in this format. )
GoMule - muling
Multi-instance .dll - allows multiple instances in SP
Other alterations
The SP(T)F calls these alterations below "Forum Accepted Mods" (FAM)
RWM - enables Bnet runewords
RRM - colours runes red
Silospen's CRM - colours runes different coours
If any of the items you offer for trade have come into contact with these mods then you must declare them as FAM (forum accepted mods).
You may not offer items to someone if those items will change their status EG FAM members may not offer items to vanilla players unless that player has specifically stated that they will accept FAM items.
If you don't have the mod installed but have traded/MP'd with people who do any item/character/item found by that character is deemed to be USING that mod and you must declare it.

Any mod or program not specified above.
Duped items
Items created or found while using any third-party program on the game or character
Anything that's been in contact with Open Bnet
Bugged items (Bugged items are considred to be items that cannot normally spawn in Diablo. A glitched ribcracker that adds 400 to mana cannot be traded. (Things like ethereal armors socketed with the cube recipe are fine.) ATMA Ebugged items maybe traded but should be declared as such.
Characters
Quest rewards (This applies to the quest reward itself. Items created or modified by a quest reward are fine.)
Any “real life” items or service - including cubing
Anything found using the act5 command
Seed command should only be used as per the Accepted Gameplay Rules
Version/status transfers
Allowed transfers:
Forward in versions (EG 1.07 to 1.11 and 1.11b to 1.12a)
HC (hardcore) to SC (softcore) (declare it though; some don't like it)
Vanilla to FAM
Not allowed:
Backward in versions (this includes 1.12a to 1.11b; they are NOT the same)
SC to HC
FAM to Vanilla
LoD to Classic
Some of us play many versions and keep separate stashes for each.
D2 Variants
Hell Unleashed
Median
Eastern Sun
Players of these may trade with other users of the same mod if they follow the rules above.
Loaning Items
This is not supervised by diii.net. If you loan something and it isn't returned or is returned in a different state you have lost the item. End of story. Don't complain to us and don't restore a backup of your items.
Trades via PM
Try not to. If it goes wrong, we aren't going to help you. You may and are encouraged to report trades. You may leave neutral feedback for tracking purposes, put PRIVATE in the descriptions.
Other Forums and Open B.net
Many people are members of other forums. They may trade there. Other forums are not as strict as we are as regards mods. If you have traded on other forums that allow mods/programs that we do not you may not trade here.
Trading items or playing characters on Open Battle.net with strangers or with an unknown host will prevent any affected characters and items from being able to enter the SPF trading and MP pool.
Check your trade partners thoroughly.
Trade Status
Your length of time on diii.net determines your trade status. The options are Full Trade Status or Probation.
Under one week: you may not trade, you may post a trader profile. You are still Probationary status but may not trade.
One week to three months: you are on probation (sometimes called NTPP new traders probation period). All your trade offers and threads should contain NTPP in the trade tags
Over three months: Full trade status (FTS). Full Trade does NOT mean a person is 100% trustworthy; check your trade partners.
Probation Items
It is STRONGLY recommended that you do not trade these items (http://freewebs.com/neksja/report.html) with NTPP traders. Many thanks to Neksja for that page, a text list is below.
Uniques: Any item with a TC level of 84 or higher
Sets: Any item with a TC level of 84 or higher
Jewellery: SoJ, BKWB, Metalgrid, Tals Amulet, Serephs Hymn, Highlords, Mara's
Runes: io and above (i for indigo not l for left) or any item upgraded using one of these runes.
Jewels:
Any combination of these affixes: Scintillating/Ruby (Enhanced Damage - Fire Resist is ok) with Fervor/Freedom/Carnage/Bliss
Rare jewels with the modifiers given by the affix/prefixes above. It is best to check with a Mod if you are unsure
Perfect Facets
Charms:
Skillers
Any combination of these affixes is banned: Prefixes: Shimmering/Fine/Sharp with the Suffixes: Balance/Inertia/Sustenance/Vita
Gheeds Charms: we would suggest traders are cautious if a very good Gheeds is offered for trade.
The Moderators reserve the right to stop any trade involving a Probationary Trader - without any prejudice to that trader. It is a way of saying "we need to know you better". This is most likely to be done with new traders looking to trade high end runes.
Posting and Replying to a Trade Thread
Use the correct trade tags (see below)
Trade threads should list a clear ISO and FT.
When offering an item for trade, post the ATMA readouts. Do not wait for acceptance.
Use space saving code boxes where appropriate. Instructions here (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=611210).
You can host Flavie reports on Freewebs. Upload the standard.css to get the pretty colours.
Images may be hosted on Imageshack. That shouldn't be necessary though.
If you have a large number of readouts or files that you wish to upload, PM myself and I may host it for you.
Reply to threads politely. Ask for more information if you wish. Do not post if you are not involved in that thread.
Exchanges of items can be made by either emailing ATMA or GoMule files or meeting up in a TCP/IP game - not Open

You will always post ATMA readouts of every item you trade.
Always leave feedback.
This is how we track you down if a trade partner is problematic. If you don't leave feedback and we can't track an item if there is a problem; it may look like you caused the problem. It is your responsibility to leave feedback. If you leave feedback, you're covered. You must leave a deal url linking to the post of the deal. Or your feedback does not count!
Trade Tags
Trade tags allow us to see easily where an item is being used. The basic format is: Mods (FAM or vanilla) Version (1.07 1.12a etc) Pool (HC or SC)
So a couple examples are:
[1.12a SC FAM] is an item in 1.12a softcore with one or more of RWM, RRM, CRM
[1.07 SC vanilla] is an item currently in 1.07 softcore without any FAM interaction
If the item has been found and is still in the same mod/version/pool only one tag is required.
If the item has been moved forward (EG from 1.07 to 1.12a) it is generally best to specify that (EG 1.07 sc vanilla > 1.12a sc FAM).
All posts and threads offering/requesting/accepting items must have trade tags. It is a very good idea to tag at the top of a post if everything is from the same version/mod/pool.
If a mix of mods/versions/pools are being offered, tag each set of items. EG (SC 1.12a FAM six pgems, SC 1.12a vanilla eight pgems.)
Threads by probationary traders should say NTPP in the title EG NTPP 1.12a SC FAM
Quick reply tags do not count. I.E. The thread title does not guarantee the version of the items in your post (because people make mistakes from time to time).
Giveaways
Allow a trade post to be up for 24 hours before offering items for free
Do not offer items for free if trade negotiations are already underway
Giveaway threads should have [Giveaway] at the beginning of the thread title
Givers and receivers in Giveaways may leave feedback for each other. It must have GIVEAWAY in the feedback comments.
Auctions — How They are Different
An end time and date must be specified — a week is usually enough
A clear ISO must be posted
Auctions result in sales
Setting a minimum bit price is a good idea. Top end items might be best not described as auctions; it allows for more flexible negotiations.
Post a 24 hour warning, use the format "24 hours from this post" NOT 2pm EST
Auctions may be extended if circumstances — this needs to be agreed with a Moderator
The auctioneer decides the value of offers to determine who is winning.
You may only run one auction thread at a time. When one auction ends and all trades/feedback complete, you may start another.
There may be no more than TEN items in any one auction
Auctions for pgems only: There may be no more than TWENTY items in any one auction.
Note: Bids may be rejected if you comfortable with bidder. You must do this politely via PM or in the thread and you should always PM a Moderator to let them know you have done this.
If someone you don't want to trade with bids at the last second, do not close the auction. Contact the bidder as explained above and remove their bid before closing the auction.

Words of Advice
PM your email, don't post it.
Take responsibility for your actions.
From the moment you enter the trade forum, the onus is on you to read the rules and obey them.
Check your trade partners thoroughly. If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.
If you are unsure about anything re-read the rules. If you are still unsure, PM the Moderators and wait for our reply.
Itrader Feedback
Feedback is an important tracking tool and one Moderators use to track down those who have traded with problematic traders. Incorrect feedback can lead to YOU being blamed for a problematic item because we cannot track the original trader.
Feedback is for SPTF negotiated trades only. Not off-forum/in-game trades.
Always leave feedback. You will only receive a feedback rating if you have not traded with that person before.
Always put a deal url linking to the post where both sets of items are listed. like this (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7058081&postcount=15).
If for some reason it won't accept the deal url, put the complete url in the "A short comment:" section. (For an example, you can check out the feedback left by Thyiad for people when she took over running Tartanasia's auction (http://forums.diabloii.net/itrader.php?u=172655&iv=4).) You will have to put the post number (not the thread) in the comments section for those.
You can only rate five people per day. If you need to do more than that, do it the day after.
Getting a specific post
Click on the post number in the top right corner of the post you want your link anchored to. This will take you to a screen that just shows that post.
This is a lot better than linking to a specific page in a thread, since different people can have a different number of posts per page set up and a post that is on page 4 for one person may be on page 1 for me.

Here's a little guide I wrote up to explain exactly how to complete a trade for sticky in the Trade Rules. Feel free to use it if you like it, or to disregard it if you don't :). It could be useful in helping some of the new comers.
[highlight]Completing a trade
After agreeing upon the terms of a trade, the items must swap hands. But how, exactly, does this happen? Simple: using a muling program and email!
Create a stash within an approved muling program (ATMA/GoMule) -- see this thread for help. (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=728499)
Fill the stash with the items to be traded
Save the stash with an applicable name (something like: [name of user trading to][date] (e.g. mattinm11122009 would be a trade to mattinm on 11/11/2009) in a specific trading folder; if any problems arise, one can easily see exactly what one sent)
Email the stash to the other trader; post a printout of the stash sent in the trade thread
The other trader will receive the stash and reply with his/her stash; post a printout of the stash received in the trade thread
Open the stash you received in your muling program and move the items onto a character or into your own stash
Don't forget to post exactly what you sent to the other trader, and exactly what you received! And don't forget to leave trader feedback. This information is critical to ensure trades happened as they should.

You must have a Profile here before you trade
Profile purge June 2009 to remove incorrect profiles and profiles of members not logged in since April 2009.
This is a convenient reference. It does not replace making proper enquiries of your trade partners.
Read the Trade Rules then post your profile with as much detail as possible. If unsure - PM a Moderator before posting. You must have a profile posted here in this thread; older profile threads are too out of date.
Use the blank template for your profile - do not copy others' you may be copying their mistake but you WILL get your own infraction/ban
Put in as much detail as possible. See the profiles of both Moderators for examples. Generally the more detail the profile, the better the trader
Update your profile if you make any changes (eg extra versions, alter mod status)
Put today's date in the format of 2 June 2009 do not use only numbers (British and Americans use different number formats).
List any mods you use here. Do NOT put FAM here, individually list which mods you hve installed (EG RWM/RRM)
Status is Probation or Full Trade. Do NOT put "cannot trade for one week" in here. Put Probation and it will not need to be updated in one week.
If you aren't sure PM a Mod for advice after reading the Trade rules
Profiles of members who haven't logged in for a while are removed. Check regularaly to make sure yours is still here
Incorrect profiles will be deleted. It is therefore YOUR responsibility to check your profile. You WILL recieve an infraction/ban for trading either without a profile or with an incorrect profile.

Incorrect trade profiles will generally be deleted on sight. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure you post correctly.
Probation profiles older than three months will be deleted. It is in your interest to update from Probation to FTS when it becomes available to you.
All traders (including FTS) who haven't logged in for approximately four months will be deleted.
You may repost your profile if any of the above happens. The aim is to keep the trader list current and with uptodate information. A post from five months ago is unlikely to be that!

- Have never HFrushed but do not have any particular issues with HF rushed runes.
- Haven't Hotmuled Gheeds - in fact have left gheeds on the floor when found with a character that already has one!

Other Information: Two months ago I started playing after a long break. I already have some pretty good characters wearing a decent stuff, but I continued doing runs on some act bosses with my Sorceress and Amazon. I don't run multiple instances, I don't HF or hotmule Gheed's, the only source I got items from are Hell Andy, Mephisto and more rarely Pindelskin and Baal. I am new to trading in single player and actually I downloaded ATMA today because I got sick of selling Shakos to Ormus. The only program I use is ATMA for it's extended stash and once ( maybe I would do it again in future because as I said I downloaded ATMA just today ) to transfer two items to one of my other characters that don't have the running capability of my main runners. Hope this information will be enough and if you want to know something more just pm me. I actually don't want to get items from HC to my SC.

. I don't know what "hotmuling" Gheeds means, but I have muled several Gheeds and have no problem receiving the same.
. I am playing 1.12a SC/HC FAM, but I may move back to previous versions.If I do, I'll edit the profile.Also I don't have any problem in transfering better items from previous versions(1.09 Ravenclaw etc) as long as it is not a hack.
. I would happily receive sets/uniques gambled from the previous versions(I won't reject a gambled soj :p)
. I don't mind giving or taking HC to SC transfers, although I would like to give HC players a higher priority while giving.
. I don't mind loaning my high end items if I feel the receipant to be trustable.

I generally prefer using self-found items, so most of the time I'll be trading for pgems and/or crafting supplies for cubing, but I might trade for other items from time to time. I don't convert items from HC to SC, please state it if you do.

- I have done 2 HF rushes with 4 computers and 4 different copies of D2, the runes are kept in a separate stash, but might be used in the future.
- I have received one modified .dll HF-rushed rune in a trade so I`m tainted by that, and don`t have any problems with it. But I won`t do it myself and want to keep HF rushed runes separated from other runes in case someone only wants non-rushed runes in a trade.
- I run LK like it`s my job
- Keeps HC and SC stash completely separated (on different computers)
- I don`t move items from HC to SC, please state if you do
- I don`t e-bug, please state if you do.

Other Information: I have played only 1.12a HC LoD since my most recent clean start. I use ATMA and GoMule. I have yet to hotmule a Gheed's since my last restart, but have before and will again if I'm lucky enough to get the opportunity. I do not rush Hellforge, run multiple instances (used to have the .dll just in case, no longer do though), or transfer HC to SC, but I'm not bothered trading with someone who does. I don't loot my dead HC characters; self MP-ing is too much bother for too little benefit.
