View Full Version : Questions about PvP Hammerdin
So from what i understand, having a weapon with the runeword grief to smite is pretty awesome, can someone explain to me why grief makes smite so good? Since im a hammerdin ive only got 1 pt in smite but with grief i can actually do decent dmg?
Which weapon should i do grief in or what does an allready socketed one cost?
And should i put 1 pt in fana for when i smite?
Also, how do u deal with WW barbs who uses guided arrow when ur at range and ww when ur close?
Thanks and sorry for the broken english

the + 340-400 damage mod on the Grief adds DIRECTLY onto the base damage of your shield. from whence, it is boosted by, well, pretty much everything.
to put it another way: a +340 Grief (eg a really crappy one) adds the same amount of damage to Smite as a +90 to Holy Shield item would.
for the rest of your questions: DennisKoreanGuy has the answers (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=537153)
Only use Grief against those 1.5k+life, 5k+mana ES sorc that can tank over 20 hammers during a duel.

I prefer too use grief when I want too charge somebody down, or in taking out bowazons(charge ---> smite ----> repeat ---->dead bowa).
I would socket a grief in a PB for you because you won have IAS gloves(Possibly).
Good BvC's are a pain for ANY dueler too duel, the best advice I can give it practice your desynch and sometimes pick up a namelock when they are WW'ing randomly and when you see arrows coming at you just tele stomp from the namelock.
