I'm not sure whether this is a common tactic or a completely ridiculous one because I haven't played d2 in a while--so don't flame me

I was wondering whether it would be viable for a hammerdin to use a cta/spirit sacred targe on switch with smite/fanat?

If so, WHAT WEAPON would you use for the cta considering it will actually determine the effectiveness of the smite..?

instead of the cta just being something you can put in any weapon you might actually be able to use a decent weapon and couple it with smite/fanat.

by hammerdin i mean standard hammer with 1 point in smite and fanat for some pvp battles where it can be useful.

Would this be worthwhile or would 1 point smite/fanat it be entirely ineffectual without grief as weapon?

thanks..that came out a bit more convoluted than i meant it to..

The only way to get decent damage out of smite with a hammerdin is to use grief. Most good Hdins pack grief in stash vs. certain opponents.

or go all out and make a liberator (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=547653).

Well, there are other viable weapons for a liberator.

i dont think cta is one of them, nor have i really been pleased with anything other than grief.
