Help LLD/PvP newb

Well, I'm planning to make my very first LLD character. I have read those guides with good information about gear and skills but the problem is: I don't know which build is best/good for me.
I'd like to know what build would be cheap & effective in PVP/PK games. Aim is to kill enemy with one hit (or maybe two). Level between 18-25 and no soso/necro builds.
I have lvl 87 mf soso so I can use that to find gear, etc.

fun is what you make of it. i have fun with my 30 hammerdin, but i know a lot of people wouldnt. i think as a beginner you should chose a 30 caster that you think you'd like and that can compete (because no one has fun if they get rolled by everything). good starter characters are the top tier 30 casters:

blizz sorc
fireballer

Vouch for Bone Nec, but OP's stated a disdain. All those are viable w/starter gear, and I'd consider Fissure Druid in there as well.

If you want to emphasise "cheap" then a Bonesnap charger can be made pub-worthy for pgems. However if you want to make a real dueler that won't be killed by the first real lld with max block then the caster route is good. Skin of the Magi, Spirit, SOJs, Peasant Crown and many more items are available at level 29/30. At level 18 you could make for example a cleg's zealot, (in short: cleglaws sword and items with as many +max damage jewels as you can get) not too expensive if you go for less than ideal jewels and a very powerful starter build.

A fireball sorc is the best starting LLD 30 char, easy too use for the most part, cheap, and hella effective.
Also Agreed on the Cleg Zealot for the same points as above(Save for the fact that they are even easier too duel with with).

there are amu +1 skills at lvl 1 also, and try to find random staff that gives res / defence, very funny to play, and can do 1 hit KO vs un skilled un stated lvl 9 char :wink:

if you even think about using a staff, you'll get ez'd by every melee character over 9.

False advice.
You NEED max block if you want an even semi legit low level dueler.
And you wont 1 hit KO almost anyone.

if my reading comprehension does not fail, then... running you get 25% block in which case, is lower since you say 60% block is enough.

with 60 block and walking you constantly got 60% block, when you are runing 1/3 of your block is off, so instead of max 75% you got 50%, in this case walking with 60% is better + you can spend those 15-20 dex points into hp, and have additonal life. and dont forget, not all of LLD are palas, barbs, and zons.

umm, nitpick - block is cut by 2/3 (75% walking -> 25% running). Anyway, don't forget that a 75% block build can also walk. :whistling:

you know what, you're right. not all lld is those classes, but at the level you're talking about (9-15) damn near every build is melee. not having 75% block is asking to lose to anyone who actually llds. you'll beat the people that are bored, looking to spar a little on their rise to high levels. but then again any half serious lld build can beat them.

also, iirc all mellee are using max jools, and with 6 sox weapon they ll laught at anything bellow 500.

very rarely do llds use 6 socketed weapons. many prefer clegclaw's. just back out of this thread before you make your ignorance even more obvious. LLD is fun and like many things, a lot of people get more enjoyment out of it by winning. is football any less fun when it's competitive vs just a pickup flag football game? it depends on the person.
