Fire golem adds holy fire, which seems like it would be quite strong when one has 20+ minions. Why then, is fire golem never used?

The holy <element> auras don't have the "give everyone a bonus" property that most other auras have. Instead, only the user (Fire Golem in this case) gets bonus damage, and monsters within the radius just take occasional tiny amounts of damage.
Still fire golem goes well with lower ress curse (mostly poisomancers)
Fire Golem is also great for the aggro effect! That's very useable for the Necromancers that don't use teleport.

various reasons;
fire golem has no poison immunity (which seems odd since well... why do golems, aside of blood golem, have no poison immunity to begin with?? it makes no sense. We're talking clay, metal, and FIRE here). Anyway, poison does a fire golem in very fast. And I mean VERY fast. regardless of HP.
Fire golem deals only a little physical damage, and a none-too-impressive amount of fire damage. My first "succesfull" necromancer was a Golemancer who had clay, blood, iron, Fire golem maxed, and had Golem Mastery. Trust me... he's not a good wall for monsters, and he sure as hell isn't a killing machine. He may have been pre-1.10, but after nightmare/hellmode and such, with fire immunities.. he's weak. (God I hope they buff him popeye-style in 1.13).
Also very important is his absurd high mana cost. Summoning a fire golem can very easily go into the hundreds of mana points used. Just... no.
Final reason... fire golem simply loses to the usefulness of the Iron Golem, the awesome defensive capabilities of the Clay Golem, and the brute strength of the skeletal warriors and mages.
Fire golem is fun to have. But thats all.

This is a tangent, but I'd love love love to see them change the Fire Golem to an Elemental Golem in 1.13, that randomly spawns as a Fire, Cold, or Lightning Golem. I posted that on the Blizzard forums when they were asking for suggestions, but still it's a long shot.
Just how awesome would a Holy Freeze Cold Golem be?

I suggested a spectral golem or a magical golem. Makes more sense to me than fire anyway :/
