Well I finally tried that "special" pvp oriented server only to be disappointed. Having nice gear with little effort is great for testing, but I got maybe 5 real duels and had to put up with a lot of bm in "gm games". So much for "better" competition.
Back on good ol ladder bnet, my ghost did as well as she normally does, even managing to hold her own against a trapper and bvb barb. It wasn't too long before the game became a free for all, and I'm sure you all know how that goes.
This foher starts complaining especially and after several defeats to my ghost the last one he complains I rejuved and leaves abruptly, when moments later several people all vouch that I don't. So I challenge him to an ft5.
So we begin, and I failed to notice he brought a different character. Instead of the foher, he brought in a smiter. So after a close fight even with my lacking ar, he pulls the first one. I swap to the fools and take 1. In the next fight I get him to 1 hp and he starts typing mid duel. I mb for the killing blow and he starts complaining I run too much. At this point I'm already annoyed since pvp on that "server" was boring and juvenile, and now he's whining because he thinks I should just stand there and try to whirl around him smiting like a fool. I win the next one and again, complaints about the "running" when all I'm doing is whirling away while he charges. I try to explain politely that he's making the mistake by not walking but he'll have none of it.
So after another switch (so much for an ft5 right) he brings an es blizzard sorc. At this point I know he's probably going to whine when I beat him, and tell him he's just a waste of time, but he insists. So, after two quick decisive victories, now he's complaining that mb is bm. He leaves and I think I'm finally done.
Now he brings in a hammerdin, the first character I've recognized in previous pubs. I told him that we no longer were doing an ft5 because of all the switches but he demanded I come. So I oblige him one more time. He starts the usual hammer spam albeit closer to town and I start to mb. Hoping I've cleared him from the hammers I tele only to get caught in hammer spam.
He then brags as he tells me how I thought he couldn't "ez" me and leaves relishing this one victory. Of course he avoids a simple rematch since I think deep down he realizes that he would be risking more defeats and wanted to keep that upper hand. Apparently he even took a screen shot to prove his superiority.
Really I'm not so annoyed at him because the accusation I was rejuving alone should have let me know he wasn't worth the time, it should have been obvious to me he was just gonna complain about every tactic I utilized when he lost. It's more so the fact that the mentality is seemingly more and more common in pvp. I don't mind losing in a good fight, as its a step towards improving. I do get ticked about the juvenile attitudes I have to put up with while looking for good fights.
But yeah I know, that's pvp right, I should be used to it by now. It just takes the fun out of pvp, and the game in general.
