Mephisto, Hell Forge, et al

My friend was in a Hell game where a bunch of people killed Mephisto- we completed the quest- and he didn't get the soulstone. He also hasn't done Hell Forge on Hell.

He made a game and we killed Mephisto, but a soulstone didn't drop. How can he get a soulstone?

If you've already completed the quest (which it sounds like you have) then you can't get the soulstone again, or the drop from the forge.

Were you in Act 4 at the time when the other people completed the quest? And were you in the same party as them? If so, then unfortunately the quest is lost to you now. The thing about the forge quest is that only the gem count increases when more people complete it (ie if 8 partied people complete the quest at the same time, only 1 rune will drop, but the gem drops will be increased).

After reading what you typed, assuming that your friend's hell forge has yet to be completed, just have him talk to cain in a4. He should give him the soulstone unless there's no room in his inventory.

And yes he'll need to make game in order to complete the task.
