View Full Version : Baalruns to 99 - On your own
Hi!
So, my hammerdin is coming along nicely, lvl 91 atm (soon to be lvl 92).
I want to start with the fact that I have seen different tables saying different numbers of run from 90-99. I do understand that there are too many variables to decide how many runs it would take.
What I am interested in is APPROXIMATELY how many times I have to multiply those numbers with (just approximately again) if I'm ALWAYS doing solo runs.

Here is a list where they state it's 8 players game.
Or can you actually tell exactly how many runs to 99 doing solo runs (since there are no other players with different levels)?
Thanks in advance
It's hard to tell, in /players1 game, you got twice less EXP from Baal (/P3), but 4.5* less from minion waves (/P8) against these numbers. Because experience is based on difference between monster lvl and character lvl, the multiplicative number (for number of runs at P1 based on these tables) is different each clvl. With each clvl gained you gain less and less EXP from minion waves and more from Baal, so the multiplicative number is lower with each level.

Anywhere I can find info about how much exp they yield? So i can calculate it myself?

I think this can help (http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=512)

Suffice it to say you're looking at hundreds of runs, and yes you will be breaking the thousand mark and then some.

hehe. the XP penalty starts to bite seriously hard at lvl95. going by my own experience, lvl95 to lvl97 (the highest i've gotten) probably needed more runs than needed to go from lvl1 to lvl95.
if your going to attempt this, my one reccomendation is: DO NOT DIE!!! safety first. it's better to take an extra couple of minutes on each run and do it in safety than it is to risk huge wodges of XP by trying to rush things through.
dieing, just once, even if you get your corpse back, at lvl96 costs over a hundred baal runs worth of xp. a friend died @ lvl98 and claims it set him back several months.
i found the "best" way to get XP at high levels was to go into duelling or trade games and run baal solo. cleaning out the River of Flame solo in 8 player games also yielded some decent XP over time.
chaos'n'baal walks are also a good way to get XP at these levels.
when you get bored of baaling, then think about walloping Izual for a while (iirc, he gives the third highest amount of XP of any single target at those levels behind Baal and Diablo and is followed by Nihlathak. i could be wrong, but i think these are the single best XP targets), load up on lighting resists and absorb if your going Izzy hunting.
if you have the keys, think about doing mini-uber runs in 8-player duelling games (could be interesting for a hammerdin, you'll need to 1-point Smite uber-Izzy)
