I've been thinking a lot about pvp casters lately. Now aside from light sorcs who get a really nice boost from infinity, all elemental casters would seem to benefit from it. The question is, (assuming you can hit the fcr breakpoint you want to hit), is -85% enemy resists better than, say, hoto and a spirit? What do people think. This is assuming you use a low strength voulge infinity so you don't need to put more points into strength to use it.

There are builds that rely on infinity, the main one coming to mind is the lightning/nova setup.

-res for that much is quite useful, though essentially more useful for light users because of the -elr as well. The problem with other builds (and techncially in general) by using a polearm, you sacrifice a shield, which could be used to boost fcr/resist and/or blocking.

Well, as for fcr we're assuming you can hit your breakpoints even using infinity, But, for instance, I was thinking of making a fire druid. My friend made an armageddon druid and gave him an infinity and said it did a whole lot more damage. No matter how much other -res gear you get, you won't get -85 res unless you're a cold sorc because of cold mastery.

Doing damage is one thing, but can you survive dealing it is the ultimate question. When you go infinity you limit the rest of your gear selection to compensate.

Don't get me wrong, -res is minus res, but if you're killed and the opponent survives it, or hits you and locks you so fast you can't cast, that extra damage does no real good.
