DTalon: chance to cast on strike/attack

I don't know if there's any info on this but does each kick have a chance to cast said spell even if the monster dies before the attack ends?
I was doing some quests in normal act 1 and sometimes multiple Frozen Orbs would shoot out even after the monster died (like Devilkins who always die from the first kick).
Is this correct? Or just a display bug?

each kick gets a chance to cast On Attack procs and each hit gets it's chance for On Striking procs.
