Hi i cannot seem to find a decent explanation about going for a % slow pvp build. What is the slow % cap in PvP?

I was wondering because an Eternity + Blackhorn's Face + Medusa's Gaze + Nosferatu's Coil would add up to 83% slow.

50% is max in PvP.

Try decrepify and holy freeze with slow.

Slow will not effect cast speed, so anything caster is safe.

Slow is considered BM AFAIK, so you probably won't find many guides about it.

Depends where you play.
Some leagues dont allow slow% past 10%, some dont care about it.
Pubs always cry about slow for some reason.

I dont get it really. Slow is not that incredibly powerful of a game mechanic compared to other stuff in d2. Most items which give slow are bad compared to other item choices for those slots. The only class which really gets crippled badly by slow is amazons.
Golem slow is accepted as GM, yet item slow% still gets stigmatized. I really dont get why. I can understand in 09 where there was perma slow and piercing guided why slow would have been considered bm, but given the current patch game mechanics.. its just another thing in d2, and nothing unfair about it, just another factor to consider when pvping. Not to mention slow% can be negated (the ias part at least) by stacking additional ias past your bp. Should be gm but people still complain about it.

yeah, some people consider it bm but it should be gm except for vs amazons.

on europe it is allowed, however i find it can be tough as well to duel heavily slowing + hf using smiters when you play on assassins (when exile is gm too).

Item slow counts as EIAS AFAIK and therefor it's pretty much impossible to stack against when used in large amounts.

depends on the class I guess.
maybe Im just thinking sin where its not that hard to get heavy ias stack with wsm bugging or some extra ias gear. It is almost impossible for amazon because of how much ias they need to start with, that being one of the reasons why slow is so strong against them. Other classes may have some trouble figuring out how to get extra ias in their setups as well, and certainly most players aren't prepared for it because just about everyone builds their chars with the minimum amount of ias needed.

Still though.. its not so incredibly overpowered to be called bm imho, even if it does hurt a few select classes quite a bit, most classes except amazons can still fight back against it without too much trouble even if they lose their bp.
