I haven't played this game in years, but I recently installed it again for kicks. I'm currently at lvl 59 on a Javazon... maxed Charged Strike, maxing Lightning Strike, Maxed Lighting Fury... one point in Valkyrie so far (planning to 20 it) and an accidental extra point in dodge.
I'm supposed to be playing a new javazon with a friend anyway so I was wondering if there was anything about this build that would be wrong... whether I should ignore valk/dodge/evade completely and concentrate on synergies for my lightning attacks, or if the build is fine and if it'll work.
Also... I rather like LF... if I work on my new build is pierce worth the time and effort?
Thanks and cheers.

(also...)
Would it be better to stop lvling Valk at a certain level, and point the points into Dodge/Evade?
I realize this is kinda vague so far... I haven't been in D2 in ages.
My current thoughts are... go with what I've got so far
20 CS
20 LS
20 LF
20 Valk
Rest in dodge/evade
OR
new build
20 CS
20 LF
20 Pierce
20... LS? (or something else? LS isn't as useful as LF especially if I get Titan's I feel, so I could sacrifice that for Evade/Dodge to keep myself alive?)
Pierce is a must. Consider using razortails and 9 points in pierce.
About the valk and d/e/a thing. Both paths are done. And there isn't a single one that's best. However it seems to be that the top end amazons don't use valk because they kill so fast. With cheaper equipment, it might be more interesting to have an extra tank.
However, what ever you do, get that valk atleast to lvl 17 - counting in +skills. Then she will be doing some damage and be a good tank. At lower levels, she just isn't a good enough tank so then why did you take her in the first place?
P.S. I would consider a lightning immune solution. Hell is filled with lightning immunes. Read the guides to see what your option are here.
And welcome to the forums.
[edit]
no d/e/a. It can cause your attacks to be interrupted. It's better to invest in more defensive gear if needed.

Your build seems fine so far. 1pt in DAE is enough for PvM. Just remember to put a point in Pierce also and dont go overboard with Valkyrie right away. You might not need to max it, put points in her as you see fit.

Thanks for the welcome. Like I said, I haven't played in ages so I put points in Valk thinking I'd max it, but I have begun to adore LF, so pierce seems appropriate. No D/E/A seems to exclude Valk entirely from my calculations (I mean, I've got one of each, one I'm building to play with a friend anyway, and my first as a testbed after all).
So if I were to go Razortail/pierce LF/CS, what order should I be maxing things in? Razor + 9 points in pierce is enough to do me good?
CS for bosses, obviously. I don't know if I'll go non-lightning (I'll look into solutions) as of yet since I am doing this return to DII with a buddy of mine so he's got the non-lightning side covered.
So the build would look like
20 CS
20 LF
9 Pierce + Razortail
(what else should I do? LS?)
Also, what is the best solution for Mercs? I was going to get a Act 2 Merc with a socket spear for mana regen with Insight, but any further suggestions would be welcome.
As far as I can tell the first items I should look into getting are razor and titan's... with that what should my STR be at absolute minimum for the best gear (in your opinion) for the build? And what gear would be best?
If I go with Krem's suggestion for my original build then I should go pierce, then Valk? I mean as she is right now she essentially just sits around so the little midget people don't get close enough to me to mob me before I can throw stuff at them.
If I can summarize then.... (I'm revising a lot)...
For my original build
20 CS
20 LS
20 LF
9 Pierce
2 Dodge (one point accidental)
Rest in Valk
If I make a new build (which I probably will do cause if I play with my current my friend won't get exp until I can get him up in levels):
20 CS
20 LF
9 Pierce
20 LS ??
And the rest in.... ? If I want to diversify from here I am thinking Jab but I'm not certain.
Equip Razortail and Titan's

If my math is right with all 12 skill bonuses from quests I should have enough for 9 pierce and 20 CS/LS/LF by level 64. After which my options are.... Valk (at this point unattractive if DAE will end up interrupting my attacks)... or something else. Bow backup maybe somehow... or pump Power strike for synergies.
Suggestions? From what I can tell synergies will boost my lightning damage output by a ton via Power Strike.
So that's
20 CS
20 LF
20 LS
9 Pierce
Rest in power strike (or whatever else)

Can you afford Infinity?
And remember that the 9 in pierce is TOTAL amount AFTER +skills.
Sorry for asking
Is LS actually useful in most situation other than the synergy? what situation would warrant using LS instead of CS or LF

none, CS and LF should be used at all times.

No, I really can't. Gotcha... the 9 is after the +skills.
