A what should I do to kill Lilith thread

I've been slowly playing since the announcement of Diablo 3, mostly playing a hammerdin with my buddy who plays a two sword whirlly barb. We are at level 87 and collected some keys. After transmuting them, we faced lillith, who trounced us. I tried to tank her, survived for about three hits or so, then went down, with my buddy soon to follow.

Is there a way we can salvage these characters to be able to beat her, or do we need to make dedicated uber hunters of some kind? Wealth is not much of a problem, though I don't want to do enigma.

10%lr, 3%r/w, 20 life 9% pr, 6% mf, and annilus
Merc is holy freeze with insight in a colossus voulge, fortitude in an archon plate, and anderial's visage


My buddy I don't know exactly, although he has all of IK but the weapon, his weapons are The Grandfather and BotD in a colossus sword. He whirls and berserks and uses some warcries. He has a might merc with some big ethereal weapon.

What do you suggest to help us succeed against the ubers.

Any source of Life Tap will do the trick (LT wands, Drac's mainly, or if you're rich, a Last Wish for the Barb).

Against Lilith, you shall smite instead of hammer to stay alive. Or at least drop in a couple smites when your health drops.

Why hate Enigma, if I may ask?

And imo IK is poor gear choice on the Barb, especially since you seem to be able to afford stuff like Arreats, Gores etc.

I don't know, for some reason I just feel like Enigma is too cheesy.

I agree on the IK. He could do much better, but for some reason he just loves it.

Would picking up Exile as a smite shield be a good idea? What would be a good weapon to go with it?

I guess it would be a good idea since you play with a Barb and don't need CtA switch.

Grief would be best if you let your barb friend take care of Crushing Blow. Otherwise, any CB weapon will do (Black flail etc). I wouldn't put a Last Wish, it'd be a total waste of runes since you got Life Tap on Exile already.

An upped HoZ is still more smite dmg than any Exile, tho.

Just to be clear then, with life tap and me smiting, we should be able to handle ubers with these character?
