After desperately beating the search function to a merciless pulp, I decided to actually ask a few questions since I couldn't find the exact answers I was looking for.

I am not new to Paladins, I am the owner of a Tesladin and a FOH PvM pally. I just am personally biased against Hammerdin's, idk why. But anyways, I was thinking about starting an auradin. I'll just list the questions out so nobody has to search for them, if anybody feels like helping.

I'm basically making a Fanaticism Zealot with more auras, or trying to at least.

1. With auras gifted from equipment, is there a limit to how many you can have active? By my count you can have 7 auras through you, mercenary, and gear all at once.
2. If you have Holy Fire and Holy Shock, do they both still work?
3. Why are Riftadins and Dreamers always associated with auradins? Just wondering because the search function brought a TON of that stuff up.

Basically, I am going to be running everything with a Hammerdin, a Lightning Javazon, and possibly a martial arts assassin and summoning necromancer. I want to make the ultimate party character, with the ability to run a few things (ie the countess, the pit, and the summoner). I don't have to be able to run it quickly.

Thanks for your help

Ok, hopefully what you're thinking of an Auradin is the same thing I am. Here goes:
Basic skills:
20 Fire Resistance
20 Lightning Resistance
20 Salvation
20 Conviction
7-11 Holy Shield
Extras in Charge or Zeal.

You don't want to take Holy Fire or Holy Shock since most Auradins rely on a stacked aura from a dual Dream setup (hence dreamer's show up a lot in the search) and/or a Hand of Justice and a Dragon armor.

1) There use to be a bug where you could get to many aura's and crash a game.. not sure if that's still around (or even if it's possible without being a barbarian).

2) Both will work if granted from an item, or if you have say a Dream helm, it will be active with a natural Holy Fire active.

3) See my above comment for why they show up a lot in Dreamer threads. You'll often see them mentioned in Rift-adin threads becuase of Rift's CTC Orb. Rift's Orb will cast a lot of times with Zeal and do pretty serious damage when you have conviction up. Plus it means you could skip the whole Holy Fire aspect and save some runes + get better resists through different armor, etc.

Well what I was thinking of was all the auras you can have going at once. Holy Fire (dragon) Holy Freeze (doom) Holy Shock (dream) defiance (exile) Fanaticism (right click) and then Conviction (infinity) Thorns (bramble) and a holy freeze mercenary. All at the same time lol.

Its for pure party play, that's it. And stuff like the countess, just something fun to try. I'd rather not crash games though, my kick assassin already has with a torch :/ I'm just wondering if it's possible without crashing games, or if I should try to find something else to try. I just like different builds, I'm tired of pubbie games with 5 hammerdins and 3 sorceresses. There is other stuff that works and is fun.

I've seen enough duellists running around with 3+ auras on their characters (and an additional 2+ on their mercs) to lead me to believe that such shenanigans will not crash out your game.

By the standard definition, an Auradin is a zealot or charger who uses dual dreams, dragon armor, and HoJ to attain level 30 Holy Fire + level 30 Holy Shock. This is a very viable character build.

Using the equipment mentioned to wield the highest possible quantity of auras would likely relegate the character to novelty status (Low resistances, low PDR, etc). However, with such objectively powerful equipment, I'm sure you could make such a character work quite nicely in Hell mode (Probably not as nicely as a more focused build).

Since "Auradin" has a different association, you should come up with a new name for this character type if you decide to build it. And let us know how it goes, because it sounds like a lot of fun.

Yeah I definitely will, I have about 6 pages written up already on statistics and what not. I'll post them when I figure something out. With how I have it figured, this will be a character delegated to party play, and will be able to run the Countess, the Pit, and a few other things. But for anything else he will have to do it in a party.

I'll work on a name, it has to be good. But I'll post something when I get a bit farther into the build, he's only level 19. And this build is reeeeallllyyyy expensive, I need more e-moneys.
