Exploding Arrow question

before you start, I know this is pally forum.

But I am planning on ranger, and before I do, I wanna make sureI got everything right. Because there is nothing worse than all the hard lvling to realise that you screwed up badly ;)

So I am to understand that if I am to utilise exploding arrow (say from Kuko bow)
I need, and only need, source of fire damage, and every other source will be ignored?

For example, if I am using holy shock, no matter what damage I do, the splash from Kuko will only apply for fire damage only?

This practically makes holy fire as sole source of dmg for ranger trying to use the Pierce + exploding arrow, right? :S

Now that I finished this question, I am starting to wonder again whether I should've put this in zon forum....

Rangers are still paladins and do nicely at battlefield too, quite strong class with good items.

You still shoot arrow, and that carry all your damage. But that splash effect only carry fire damage. So you can kill fire immunes too with that bow, if you also do good physical or other damage.

Yes, holy fire is best/easiest way to boost your damage, as that splash effect only carry fire damage and has good area effect killing several monster per arrow.

Enchant, fire charms, items giving fire damage helps a lot too. And if you have lots of those, then conviction aura gives as good results as holy fire.

Upped kuko (188 dex req.) does quite nice physical damage too, so killing fire immunes with that bow is possible. And you have enough points to use other aura against fire immunes, boosting damage against those.
