This probably doesnt belong here (nothing statistical about it) but this seems to be the "general questions" area

In Freya's Frozen Arrow guide, he mentions the use of cold damage charms since they increase the cold "AoE" damage of Frozen Arrow

I was wondering does this apply to some other elemental "AoE" skills as well?
Like lightning charms on charged bolt, chain lightning
Cold dmg charms on hurricane, arctic blast

or do the charms only work if the elemental "AoE" originates from a physical attack? (yes, I know that the physical and magical parts of such an attack are separated)
Lightning charms on Lightning Fury
cold charms on Blades of Ice
Fire charms on Fire claws

or is there no "rule" for the charm to apply to the elemental "aoe" part of the attack. Are there just a select few AoE skills/spells that benefit from these charms?

Im not concerned about the elemental charms working on the initial(on impact) hit, just when it spreads out

General rule, elemental charm only work with a physical hit i.e. when you swing a weapon or shoot a arrow. If the attack has a AoE like Frozen Arrow or Explosive Arrow, then it's added to the AoE the damage of the SAME element. That's why EA work very well with Enchant!

But there are exception: LF bolts, CS bolts, LS chain lightning (...) don't get the elemental damage. They work like spells that are release on impact.

The main benefit of cold charms used with FA is that they increase the duration of FA freezing effect.
