New pally

Hi! I used to play a few years ago, I had an amazon and a sorceress, when I tried to recover my account I lost everything... Now I started playing a few days ago, I got a necro as my first character to get back in the game, now i'm in the mood to play a paladin. I never played one before and I'm looking for something not too hard and not gear dependant since I have absolutely nothing to help except maybe milabrega set that a friend gave me. :/

I read that hammerdins can be incredibly powerful but can also be tricky because of ranged attackers, zealots seems popular too.. do you guys have any suggestion?

edit: I forgot to specify that I just intend to play pvm.. alone, non ladder

It's a little out-dated at the moment. I'm currently level 61 and in Act 1 Hell, hitting a brick wall of sorts in the Black Marsh. I probably could easily get through it, and to Act 2, but at this point I think it's more important for my character to be able to quickly do Countess and Pit runs. If I can get him to that point, then I can probably fairly quickly get what I need for better gear. For now, I think I'm stuck doing Nightmare Meph and Baal runs until I can upgrade some items. I also need to upgrade my Insight once I find a better 4os Polearm, because a normal class weapon just isn't cutting it in Hell difficulty.

Anyway, I plan on updating the log in a bit, after I finish checking the forums.
