Do you think any of these old Diablo classes will be a playable class in D3?(sadly I'm sure the necromancer won't, as the Witch doctor has filled his role:coffee)

None at all. Blizzard has said that the Barbarian would be the only returning playable class.

That might not include hellfire classes though.

I'd have to agree, especially since Hellfire sucked.

Rogue seems feasible. Seems almost too close to assassin though.

Cleric/Priest might be possible, but again seems too similar to paladin.

Ranger would be pretty sweet. I'd imagine almost like a Simon Belmont or Aragorn type character. Whips could be a cool weapon, plus some ranged stuff? Maybe even pistols. I wouldn't be opposed to pistols, but I'm sure a lot of people would hate it.

Okay, I've thought on this more and I really don't like the idea of pistols. I do think whips would be pretty damn cool though. A melee character but could attack within a few squares of himself. Would have knock-back and pull/rope-in attacks, plus a bunch of cleave attacks.

Makes sense to me. The different characters helped make D2 greater than D1 by a huge margin. It also provides the designers with more creative license which means more heart and soul goodness goes into the game.

They weren't going to have the Barbarian, originally. When they were working on the melee class, it was something else (which the designers declined to identify because "it would offend the players"). But as time went on, they eventually realized that everyone would call it the Barbarian, so they just went with Barbarian. I support the idea, because the Barbarians had a lot of potential they didn't realize in D2.

Just elaborating+rambling:
They chose to reuse the name Barbarian, because they felt the D 2 Barb didn't quite fill the whole idea of a Barbarian. They felt they could reuse the name, but make it a lot better/interesting/etc.
The Necro, however, had every defining "thing": Summoning, curses and poison/bone, so they felt they had to make something entirely different.

That's what I recall of the flood of info.
