:: Sheezo's Ironman Competition #1 ::

Q: What exactly is 'Ironman' ?
A: Ironman is a sort of mini competition, where up to 8 players make new hardcore classic chars, level up to 9 together - and then duel. The last man standing wins, simple, right?

Q: Are we allowed to transfer items to our ironmen?
[i]A: No, that would defeat the whole purpose.

Q: Will we be allowed to use healing potions? What about healing auras, such as prayer?
A: At this time I have decided that prayer & healing potions will not be allowed, because I want some diversity, not 8 healadins in the game.

Q: Can I use any char I want? What about a necro, with summons?
A: Yes, you can choose any char you want, granted it doesn't use illegal healing (such as a pally with prayer on.) You may use summons, but you will not be granted time to go gather them, when its your turn to duel you must duel as is.

Q: Can anyone join?
A: Yes! If you are interested in joining, just reply to this post or PM me

Q: How can we be sure no one cheats?
A: Hopefully, a moderator, or trusted member of this forum will participate on this, in which case they will provide a character name prefix, and require you to wait in game while the other players receive their prefix.

Q: When is it?
A: The Ironman tourny will begin Saturday, March 28th @ 7:00PM Pacific time, which I believe is GMT -8, please correct me if i'm wrong.

And now, on with the signups. I may edit this post with updates on rules and such, so please check it once in a while.

I'd say at least turn on loot for everybody, then your reward is up to 7 extra sets of Ironman gear ! :)

Id be interested if there was a rule that prohibits to transfer any items. Enchant could be useful too, to level up faster.

Love to join in on one of these...

And you don't really need to level up any faster, it's kind of fun trying to snatch drops off each other :)

Yeah, there definitely wouldn't be any transfering of items, typically a moderator would choose a name prefix just seconds before the game starts, so you wouldn't have time to transfer anything.

Well, Sheezo, set a date & time and see who signs up.
Preferably write the time in a GMT format.

As you stated(to clarify for others, correct me if I misunderstood), a moderator will choose a prefix, meaning you'll have to join the "waiting" game with a char and before you start the ironman, you'll have to make a new character with the prefix supplied, so you don't have time to transfer.
Not to mention it would be quite lame to cheat by transferring for such an event.

Hmm, it seems that for me this'll be 1 in the morning. Not sure I want to be doing this that late (early) especially with work the next day.

These kind of events are just me, it can be done in 1 event, and not too much time is needed.

May I suggest a seperation between large time zones?

I'd also like to know some in game rules, I suppose that the first one to get an items gets it, no claiming, but I do also suppose we have to be partied and probably going to the areas together?

Finally what about tp's during game play, and pauses? I mean if one suddenly needs a break and tp's to town it can ruin everything as others may have set time out carefully planning, likewise if one falls behind then there might be some who reaches level 10 before others reaches level 9.

These things would be nice to get cleared up on.

When I've finished my 1.00 and 1.07 projects then I'm all in for this, I suppose 1 hour should be sufficient time for such an event? Maybe 1.5 if people get problems connecting?

Bump

I suppose there aren't many who're up for this kind of stuff, well anyway I suppose I won't be able as well for some weeks still, but I hope someone will see this and show some interests as I personally really like short events like these.
