Yo dudes..

I'm experiencing with something atm.. and I was wondering..
How much orb damage would be the bare minimum to be able to duel with ..
I'm trying a certain type of build and I'm wondering how much I can skimp on orb dmg..
Ofcourse double ravens +high resists would wear me down..
But in an average pub duel game.. how much orb dmg would be required.. to actually make it worth using..

hey my fav char has always been the orb sorc it doesnt need to do much dmg mine only did about 14xx. but its alot more then it looks trust me umm if u have any more specific questions pm me

Well, the first time I took my pvm mf sorc out to go after some pkers she reminded me why I wasn't big into dueling (at the time). Since you'll have a bit of a harder time sweet-spotting your orb against a decent opponent as they'll be in constant motion (mainly tele) my 400 or 500 something orb maybe took this lite sorc I was dueling a third before she 1 or 2 shotted me.

Honestly, I think orb is too slow for pvp where as fire you can cast enough to cover an area. If you were to use orb, you'd really have to specialize in it, but I don't see it being enough as the cast delay allows you to get outdamaged pretty quickly should you stop to cast.

So yeah, you really would need to have some heavy orb damage to make it worthwhile for pubbing. Unless of course you're fighting melees with slow or no teleport speed. I would probably shoot for 1k.

The reason I'm asking, is because I want to test a massssssive mana build..
And the only spell that can get good damage with max'd es without the use of many + skills would be orb.. any lack of + skills can be easily made up with % dmg from facets and stuff.. since it has a far greater effect on cold dmg then fire/light..

i had a orb sorc a long time ago, i managed to duel vs most chars with 800+ ice bolt damage but going over that really helps alot.
