es and max block sorc viable?

hey i was thinking about making an es and max block sorc but wouldnt hte points in dex take away from the mana?

can anyone listen some good gear that i could use? should i use whistens instead of spirit monarch?

I was thinking of making this for hardcore... is this a smart idea? can anyone give me a link to a good thread that teaches me how to make this build?

If you're going to try to block on a sorc, don't EVER use a Spirit shield. (exception: paladins with holy-shield & paladin shields can manage it reasonably well).

Exception: Guardian Angel + Spirit Shield.

It's sort of a funky way to build a sorc, but it works... and you get the cool resist bonus and all the goodies from the Spirit shield, too...:scratchchin:

I'd stay away from max block, especially in hardcore. Blocking is limited, as you can only block so many types of attacks. I personally prefer to avoid being hit to begin with, and have enough life to take a hit that would otherwise kill me. If you're planning for hardcore, you'd definitely want to invest in life even with ES as ES can't stop everything, and you need a way to survive against mana burn.
