im making a pure lite ama and i had some gear questions
she will be wearing..
grifs
nigma
e titans
stormshield/ is pheonix a better choice? and is a facet shield that much of a benefit?
cta/spirit switch
tgods
+3/20 gloves or +2/20/mana leech gloves
ravens/bk
maras/highlords
treks/war travs
ok so..
is %3 mana leech enough for me to leech in hell?
maras or highlords? does deadly strike even benefit the zon?
thanks
i'll put my word in that phoenix kicks all other shields' arses for a pvm javazon. use a phoenix and you will need zero ML. other gear looks good. DS will only double melee damage iirc, but 33% at lvl 90 ain't doing you that much anyway. go mara's, switch the tgods for razortail, throw an infinity on the merc and you're gg.
oh, and if you plan on teleporting through the game I would seriously consider some more fcr, especially for a zon. you could have a wizspike/fcr shield on switch, or dump the enigma and use harmony on switch
storm shield isn't considered a very good option. 99% of the amazons that can get the gear you mention go all out on damage - mainly because dead monsters can't kill you. therefore, I advise to change your shield unless you really want high defence of some strange reason.
Phoenix is an option, yet there are many more. spirit is popular, so is jmod with facets though even a plain monarch with facets and even 3 socket shields with facets are fine - though totally unpopular. Heck, if you really want, there are many other interesting shields to find. Stormshield often isn't on them.
P.S. And just as a note, coh is a very good armour too. Some like enigma and some like coh. Just remember that teleport isn't that important so don't get to focussed on teleport.

I think Stormshield is a good choice. Easy to max block with, nice res, huge damage reduction. All round great defensive shield. Cheap too. If you want offense then you want light facets and shields that have the sockets to stick them in.
4 socket Monarch with 4x light facets is a temp for people that can't find and can't afford a JMoD (Jeweler's Monarch of Deflecting) which is exactly the same thing except you can max block with it and not have to invest tonnes of points into dex. JMoDs are ridiculously rare and ridiculously expensive. If you want one for damage/blocking be prepared to trade pretty much every character you own. And then some.

But thats the point, for a PvM Java Softcore, there is no point in going defensive.
unless you like drinking mana pots every second or dont have crazy ML, go phoenix i'm telling ya!

Why would you need damage reduction in % for PvM? Most of the damage done to you came from elemental attack.

I am running just 5% Manasteal with Steal skull for my MF hybrid zon. It is fine really.
@ fwing: LF unlike FA is not a mana hog. With LF all it takes to keep the blue bulb full is a little mana leech and/or mana after each kill.
meh, i lose a lot of mana but that's prob b/c i spam it and have no points in energy. also the life you get from redemption is also awesome

And you think we have points in energy?

Why not use a spirit monarch? You're using Enigma, so you shouldn't have problem reaching the STR requirement. FCR, FHR, +2 skills, 100+ mana, think about it.

What is this zon for?
Personally, I would NOT use a phoenix as the main shield. The .4s casting delay is the most annoying thing ever.
You may want to try using tele on an amazon before you build one around enigma. I can't stand tele'ing so slow, but you might not mind or your needs might require it. Don't overlook a 4x faceted armor, much easier to get a better second mod than with a shield!
As for shield, if you don't need defense then definitely use spirit.
If you don't need the fhr from the boots, use silkweaves for the mana per kill.
One more thing, depending on your uses, you may want to have a spare titans available in your inventory.
