I got another heads up about a new Diablo III class. But before I post news about it, I wish to double-check the accuracy and veracity of the scan sent to me.

I need to know who among our members are subscribers of PCGamer magazine. The issue number I am looking for is # 179.

Do you have it?

It's probably fake or speculation. Blizzard isn't going to announce the next class until April 1st.

It is a possibility. That's why I wish to double-check with someone who is a PCGamer subscriber. That way I can ask that person to scan or describe the image given to me to see if they match.

If the image is not a fake, then we probably have a solid evidence for one of the two unannounced classes.

Perhaps you could share what you heard?

Given Blizzard's track record of what they do on April 1st every year. I suggest not to believe a single word on it.

Well, if no one is able to scan the page I need, I guess we will all have to wait until this PCGamer August 2008 ships to my home in the next days. I purchased it just now out of curiousity.

If this blurry scan sent to me isn't a hoax, there is a possibility that one of the classes has a flipping .... whip as weapon. And it's probably a demon tamer. Reminds me of the Hellgate: London Cabalist Summoner. I had one in Hellgate beta.

It wouldn't surprise me.

Transformers film ---> Starcraft II is announced --> Thor
new Indiana Jones film --> Diablo III is announced --> Unnamed Class with a whip.

This is the screenshot sent to me:

I will scan the page once It gets shipped to me. This is too blurry to really see what this thing is. Could be a Witch doctor or Wizard. Or ... Indy class.

Bottom-left corner.

its a babarian preforming a cleave attack. the lightning kind of thing there is a shaman mob with a staff falling to the ground.

Well, i have never seen that shot before.
But i cant be sure if its a new characther or a male wizard.

It's not a new character or a barbarian. It's a bunch of goatmen and an Activated Vessel. You can see the slash marks from its claw attack. after that, everything is more recognizeable.

and yeah, the blue "whip" is just energy from the staff.

If Blizzard hadn't released the Wizard yet, they wouldn't leak a screenshot of the new class. Especially since they only had concept art for it back then.

Both of these shots are from the first gameplay video of Diablo3. Wich was shown when D3 was first announced.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that is not a whip.

I was given a link to a better scan. Now more detail can be seen. What looked like the end-edge of the whip is a staff. It can't be perceived too well, but there is a witch doctor in there to the right of the strange mob.

So yea, good bye to the Indy class speculation.

That is a good example of why Diablo needs color: Not being able to see the Witch Doctor

And as I said. It's an Activated Vessel.

Yea, 'cuz else you can't see it very well on a crappy 200 by 200 scan of a magazine. :scratchhead:
