To sum things up: Bashiok has said that whenever a weapon has an elemental enchantment, it will have a visual affect relative to the strength of the enchantment, from a simple glow to Being On Fire like the maul was. Bashiok has said that the barb's weapons showed the highest possible effect at the time so they would stand out.

or maybe i saw it in another game and i just though it would normally work like that
