View Full Version : "poll" on having threads for each of the 5 characters

this site has a barbarian forum, amazon forum, paladin forum, sorceress forum, necromancer forum, classic forum, etc...
i really like having the sections for each of the 5 characters, the only problem with them is that they are all about LOD.
i was interested if moderator(s) and site users would like (if its alright? moderator(s)/warlock) to have threads in the classic forum that "act" like the barbarian forum, sorceress...etc..
"poll" on having threads for each of the 5 characters
moderator (warlock): would this be a good or bad idea or good but too much hassle ?
other site users would u like to have a barbarian thread, sorceress thread, necromancer thread, paladin thread, amazon thread within here (this classic forum) just for us classic players without all the LOD gear and LOD build guides/suggestions that are in the barbarian forums and such ?

my main reason for this, is that the amazon is the least popular and rarely played. also, if it's played it's only built as maybe 1 or 2 popular builds. in other words the amazon class is really lacking/missing much info on it. i know that's probably for good reason...the amazon class simply is worse than the other classes..but i think there's got to be some way to make the fend or physical bow skills work well as builds/characters. if maybe could get started some discussion on amazons by having an amazon thread, we might start discovering or "piecing" together gear and skills to make a fend zon or a physical bow zon more viable.
i am drawn to the amazon for this reason. i wanna learn how to make amazons that can compete with otehr builds and raise the amazon class up. but there's very little help for me with the amazon. very little discussion and info and builds for amazons.

My first thought was "no way", simply due to the amount of activity we already have. But then I realised you meant individual threads. The only problem with that is having them stickied, which would bloat up the stickies list. Having them floating around with a nice customised title or something would be nice though, along with links to them in the build guides and information thread.
They could be nice places to post newer and different guides, I've learnt a fair bit over the past year that I could spew out into some guides :P

i do know that the build guides and faq sticky has lots of information, but the threads could contain all the info and build guides/ideas or links to them. thought it might be nice to have all the barb stuff (both information, discussion, builds, and gear AND build guides) in one thread, zon stuff in another, etc..
the only problem with most of the build guides is that they are the popular cookie cutter ones. might be nice to have more guides on newer or weirder/weaker builds too.
but i don't know what others think so i threw this out there to see what users/mods think.
ya they don't ahve to be stickied..though be helpful if there was a link to them in one of the stickies that already exist so people could find/acess the threads easy. they would jsut be normal (non-stickied) threads in this (classic forum) called "barbarian folder" or whatever. people could than post any barb stuff in it or links to barb stuff. barb information, different barb builds, discussion, new ideas, etc..."amazon folder" thread...etc..

I like the idea. Though indeed not a separate sticky for all of them, but whatever you guys want linked from the stickies has my vote.
As suggested, we could link to them from the FAQ sticky, we'll put it somewhere near the top and we'll see where it goes from there.

whatever, you guys and moderator (warlock) wants/okay with, i just threw this idea out there to see what other people thought. if they liked idea or not.
i was kinda thinking of making a thread (NON-stickied...it would indeed clutter up the stickies too much. seems everyone agrees with this), called hmm "barbarian classic". people could than post or link to all their different guides/builds or barbarian information or prefered/effective stats/skills/gear as posts within the thread. also have a "amazon classic" named thread.."sorceress classic thread"...etc..
it seems that it's alright so i'll get started...

I guess it could serve as a place to talk x-class in general but linking all the build guides in those threads seems unconventional as we already have a place for them in the build guides stickies - it just makes it somehow messy.

just being thorough/comprehensive as they are threads for each of the 5 classes. i know the sticky already has the guides (mainly cookie cutters), but there's some guides/builds/info (non-cookie cutters) that i have been finding in the classic forum that are not in the sticky, as well.
i actually think these are the cleaniest/well organized threads/posts i made so far:D

okay i need a break!!! i done a ton of work on the 5 class threads!!!
note to self:
1. on page 15 for threads/posts of classic forum looking for builds/guides/info
2. still need to go and fill in (calculate the stat stuff) the stuff i can about the information, stats, and skills sections of the 4 remaining class threads i haven't completed.

Personally, I don't mind if there are three ways to reach information. That still seems preferable to no ways to reach information to me. :)
But this is not my forum, it's ours. I'm just here to sweep up if there's cleaning to be done.
So if one of us wants something linked, stickied or added to the FAQ, just fling it on here. One condition is that it's within the rules though. :)

I am glad as long as the build guides etc stay stickied where they are now so I can find them if needed, they have been so helpful for me over the times and I have gotten used to them being in there - in the build guides, stickied.

linked the iceblink small discussion thread to the classic paladin thread. (it's under the guides/builds post under the "smiter section/block").
i'm not sure how i wanna do the rest of the 5 class threads i made. so i spent a lot of time scouring the classic forum looking for stuff to link in the Guides/builds post of the 5 class threads.
i'm not sure yet what other contents want to do...i think i'll at least reserve 1 post for whatever comes up, but after that than people can make posts in it about or contributing whatever to it.
