The ideea is not new, but could make the game experience more deep and rewarding.Give the character who reached a certain lvl(very close to max level, but not quite at max lvl, so it's not only to show off) something to distinguish it from the others and to show his new status.a good example is the wings the characters get to wear in korean mmorpg 2moons/dekaron.they give minor bonuses(10% more walk speed, hp and mana) but are certaninly a nice touch.not to mention the design of those wings looks diffenret from class to class and very appropiate.

pls discuss

Well D3 isn't level based, like you complete level 1 then they calculate your completion time and number of monsters killed like those old school games (Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario).

However it would work if after you finish a quest you go talk to a NPC to get your reward, but that seems like something that can only be done once, seeing as if you're able to repeat certain quests that gives 10% speed that'll make D3 too off balance. Also, having quests that gives gold without a proper gold sink will make the new currency system useless as well. Boss loots are end game reward enough.

As for something to show off, well I wouldn't want it to look over animated like in Cabal, conquer, eudemon. The final skills you learn is like a freaking fireworks show when you use it, and I can't find myself to actually use those skills for everyday training without getting a seizure first.

After making the suggestion to add fairy wings to the characters I really hope you never argued that the d3 art direction wasn't dark enough :p

I think there should definitely be some reward for players who hit max level. I'm tired of everyone saying how d3 should be for the casual player. It is RPG and RPGs have always rewarded those who invest serious time.

I fail to see why the casual gamer should have it all, all the powers that hardcore gamers would have. This is selfish. There should be great things for casual gamers who don't have much time, and a few extra rewards for those who do invest the time. Anything less and you get an action game only.

Wouldn't a piece of armor or a weapon do this? Like one that you only get under certain circumstances? I don't play WoW, but I like how certain people can get goodies that signify they did something special, kind of like the polar bear mount that Blizzcon attendees got. I'm just a casual gamer, so none of this would benefit me, but I still think it would be cool.

Maybe they'll implement a special dungeon only for those who completed the game?

We have cow levels for D2, probably something better will be in D3. Who knows

Achievements seems to be the new in thing for people who really want to be rewarded for everything :) Started on Xbox, then started penetrating into other games, now even WoW has em.

I don't find them particularly motivating myself, but I know a lot of folks who will spend absurd amounts of time trying to get an exotic achievement.

i would love for the come back of the shiny character after you reach lvl 99 ( idea from completing IK set / Tal set , etc)

I really like achievement systems as long as they're cosmetic. I thought the GW approach was mostly really good, the title tracks for pve only skills aside, where you can turn on any one of your titles to just display next to your name.

In BNet there was the suggestion to open up the Skilltreesystem for players, who had done all quests that can be done in the game, so that the player may mix skilltrees from different classes. I kinda liked the idea, although opening up all skilltrees at once seems to me a too heavy reward just for playing the game (completely) to the end. But choosing ONE skilltree added to the pool, or even just adding the dominant skilltree of the build reaching the "all content done"-mark, isn't. Of course, as skilltrees are built up on one another, this would result in a mass of unplayable pseudocharacters, so it's nothing to bulge into for everyone.

Please excuse the bad english in this post. Have a case of "right words missing"-syndrome at the moment.

That would not be balanced at all for the simple reason that a player could then benefit from both fury and mana.

Right you are. But as I've said before: The three skilltrees of each character are build complementary upon each other. So taking one tree here, one tree there and ... Oh, this looks interesting... would only lead to already nerved "sidecharacters". So it's just a worthy reward for people searching for a real (and "unique") challenge rather than The munchkinbuild. And as (in my thinking) you're only getting one tree at once for completing the game, it intensifies replaying with different builds as well as different characters.

One may nerf this reward even more with making it a sp-reward only, although the prerequisites may be earned in sp and mp.
