My Haunted Stash

So here I am I just found the Witchwild String unique short siege bow (a pretty good find) and I never logged out of my account but 10 minutes later when I went back to look at it it had disappeared. Has this ever happened to anybody before?

Edit (to be more helpful): When you found the bow you were lagging, or at some point maybe you moved it to the ground and then lagged. Either way, the server side of the game didn't catch that you had it in your stash, even though you (the client side) did have it in your stash. Once everything caught up, it went back to where it was according to the server side.

It's not that common, but it does happen. Sometimes in your favour, sometimes against.

If it was something you were searching for, something for a build you've got on the go, then I'm fairly sure I've got a WWS on a mule which you can have to replace it. If it was just a fun find... well, just shrug it off as a b.net casualty.

I once lost the second half of Act 2 Hell, and everything I found in it, due to the lag monster hps mentioned, . . but in that instance it was pretty clear that lag was to blame . . . if there were no signs of lag in your case, I'd do what the engineers do and blame Gremlins!

Are you saying you never even left the game and it simply disappeared from your stash? This is really unusual, because usually something disappearing involves leaving the game. The more common thing is to toss something on the ground and come back and find that you still have it. It's more unusual for something to poof from your stash because for it to have been there in the first place means the server recognized that it was in there to begin with. Because you can't put something in stash while you're lagged (ie you click on your stash and nothing happens because you're lagged out). Same with the cube, and trying to move things out of your inventory. If you're lagged out, you can't do it.

I would tend to believe you suffered a minor roll-back. That's not uncommon, but again, that involves leaving the game and it not saving properly to Bnet, and the next game you start it's grabbing an "old" save of your character.

I believe I suffered this too. Happened last night dont remember the time, but if you posted this right after it happened, I would guess I experienced the same thing.

I play hardcore, so when I recognized that I was lagging I immediately left - I was in Chaos of all places but I survived.

I was then unable to join or create games for about 5 minutes.

When I finally created a game, I went to put some Items I had found in my stash... but they werent there. The milbreagas shield I had dropped on the ground, was back in my stash, and I had to go kill the ancients again - (I was grushed and was just doing some MF and quest clean ups in NM), lol.

Luckily thats all that happened. :)
