Lightning Javazon

I'm making a Lightning javazon to MF cows(in classic) and I'm planing on following this guide: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406252 just wondering if it's a good guide and if following it exactly would be a good idea, and would substituting the sigon's shield for eyeless be worth it? (I already have an eyeless) and would it then be worth it to not use sigon's at all or should I just use it for the 9frame cast rate?

That guide is pretty old but still effective I guess. If you choose to use Eyeless because of mana, you don't have to worry about it anymore. The Insight(RalTirTalSol) runewords introduce in 1.10 is perfect for Javazon. Getting the runes for Insight shouldn't be too hard. Ral and Tal can be obtain through one of the Act 5 quest. You should be able to pick up at least 1 Tir when leveling your character. Sol took some time, but manageable, just run NM Countess a few times.

throwing speed is not based on fcr, its based on ias. iirc eyeless got some mana after kill mod that may prove to be useful, the lack of rare/unique jav in classic makes mana leech obsolete on javzon. there's always mana pots too if your low, the blocking and damage boost with sigon is better just my opinion. also the jav you start with is good enough, the repair is always one gold and damage is coming from lightning anyway not to mention the low requirements.

Alright, thanks for the replies. I think I'll get enogh strength to be able to use the sigs pieces and just use an eyeless until I find the sigons shield.

And is it possible to make it so that I don't use up all of my javelins automatically? I always forget to swap them when they are low and then I have to go and gamble for another set and it's really annoying.

Yeah, buy magic javelins instead of the plain one.
