10 what to all attributes?

I'm sure someone here will roll his - or her - eyes at me for even asking this, but I really can't find the answer. I did check the Arreat Summit and while that usually answers most of my questions - not this one.

I found myself An Amulet, in gold letters, which is fun, it's the Mahim-Oak Curio thingy.

As one of its bonuses it says "*10 to all attributes"
10 what to my attributes? I tried using it and as far as I could see there were no changes in any of the stuff I was using. So what is this, what does it do, is it any good for a single play sorceress?

So +10 str, +10 str, +10 stam, etc, etc.

Those are attributes? That's boring. I hoped it would be 10 to all attributes as in attributes being items.....:crazyeyes:

Mahim-Oak Curio is a good item, but just not for the normal sorceress build. It's more for melee builds as it gives decent mods for mid-level players. I've used it as an endgame amulet on several occasions.

I decided not to flog it after all, it does do something funny for the resistances, I noticed. To begin with, it stops me from being in the negative...

Actually any plus's to your attributes is a good thing. Note your character stats when you add/remove an item which has this mod. Your life goes up (or down), mana goes up (or down), strength and dexterity (which affect your damage down) will change ... and so forth.

Ppl search out anni's for just this reason. Also, it is the plus to attributes and resistances which will differentiate a good torch from a poor one.

Eislam's tome (spelling?) quest in act three is done simply to add attribute levels. Every time you level your character you get 5 attribute points to distribute. So, having an item that adds 10 to all attributes is equivalent to leveling ten times. Not such a bad deal after all, eh?

uh coupla things:

-lam esen's tome
-10 to all attributes equals 8 levels without the 8 additional skill points...
-attributes are ONLY: strength, dexterity, vitality, energy... and nothing else
-+10 res all is the most important reason why i still use it on my starter barbarian... (i know, i know)

mahim oak also has the +10 res all in addition to the +10 attributes,
+10 vitality automatically results in +something stamina depending on the character
