Troubles/troubleshooting. Haha, get it? No? Okay well onto the problem.

I just downloaded Diablo II and LoD off of the Blizzard website. I'm at school, so I called home and got my CD Keys and all that good stuff. Unfortunately, after installing both and trying to open it, it wouldn't work. Every time I go to play it, I double click on the application and it gives me the ever-frustrating "the application quit unexpectedly" pop-up. I've gone onto Blizzard and whatnot, but haven't been able to figure out my problem. I just got a new MacBook, so I have the latest version of OS X, which I'm hoping isn't problematic.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

There is a patch you have to download from Blizzard that allows compatibility for OSX since when this game originally came out it was released for OS 9. Just google "Diablo 2 OSX" and you will find all kinds of resources to help you get going.

Unfortunately I have done that already. It only works if you have discs I believe. Not only that, but my roommate does have discs, which I tried using with my own CD Keys and DII Native Installer, and it didn't work. What happened was that DII Installer would crash after it told me to insert the Play Disc (second step of installing the game). It did this a few times, but I can't fathom why. Anyone?

There is an online Blizzard store on which you can give your CD keys and they will allow you to download a version of it. I had similar problems but this solved just about everything. The only thing is that it might take a few hours to download. I don't have the link at the moment but if you google it you'll probably be able to find it (just make sure it's the Blizzard site!!!)
