probably been answered before but i cant find any about it...

i found this post: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5764220&postcount=2

but no one answer him on that, so i wonder that as well..?

are items with + *%ED always max in base def + the %ED?

like an archon plate, 410-524, are they always 524 + *%ED or can they be 410-524 + *%ED?

thanks in advance

Armor with %ed at the time of its creation always has a base defense of max+1. That includes set bonuses which become active when multiple parts of the set are worn, e.g. IK armor, or runewords made out of superior %ed which leads to its base defense being max+1.

If you add a runeword to an armor, its base defense remains unchanged, i.e. it will not be max+1 if it's not already superior with %ed.

If you upgrade a rare or unique armor with %ed, it will receive a random base defense, even though it had a base defense of max+1 before.

Yes, all white/grey archon plates with enhanced defence from being superior the will have a defence of 525 * 1.x.
