Well, as many people before me, after MFing and PvPing I've finally come to HCing.
After a friend has agreed to join me in my quest for Guardianing I've decided it's high time I'll get some info together.

So, what's your recommandation on 2 chars untwinked playing only together with the sole intention of being Guardians, no MF purpeses?

I belive my question refers to two categories: The easiest and the most fun. I'd like to be something in between- making to Hell Baal, but not standing and letting my minions do all the 30 mins hard work.

Anyway, and suggestions?
Thanks anyway
:jig:

PS- Yes, I've read the introduction thread and tried the search button. Sadly, none of them seemed to answer my needs.

hammerdin and support barb is good. 2 different element sorcs works. But you can come up wiht some nice different builds. As long as you combine 2 different typees of damage you should be ok. Holy shock zealot + FC bear would be cool. I'd say use your imagination.

I'd say a Ranger/Fanat/Holy Shock Paladin and a Summonmancer is probably the best way to go.

yeah come to think about it. Skellimancer and anything would be good. Sorc Possibly. The minions tank the nec lower ress anf the sorc unleashes. FO sorcs get very good damage with little to no eq

You made the right choice - untwinked HC multiplayer is the best fun to be had in the game.

I've been playing on and off with a buddy, sometimes two, and it's a blast. Being untwinked means you really got to stay careful and work with each other.

What we went with were a freezadin and a lightning fury amazon. It worked great, I (ama) could fall back and let him take the brunt til the 30s, when I started getting my own goodies. The tactical options are great. The paladin, obviously, is the tank - incredible defenses for us due to holy freeze. I'm the artillery, decimating what he as my spotter set up for me. With an amazons ofen undervalued utility skills - decoy, slow missiles, maxed valk etc. - and the freezers strong defensive capabilities, we end up having a beautifully tactical game. It's been thoroughly enjoyable.

Of course, you can figure out what works for you, there are many obvious good combinations. See what fits your playstyle and taste and what your buddy can imagine doing.

I wish you two the best of luck and fun! Maybe our teams can join up for a game on the EUHCL sometime (though our java and freeze by now dropped out... we're on a barb / rogue / sorc team with a third buddy on the ladder too atm, still occasionally playing the ladder-no-more "oldies") :).

Cheers,

Thanks for all the comments.
We haven't started playing yet (exams, you know..) but I've found myself wondering about yet another thing:

1. I don't want to be a sit back char. That seems really boring, even in untwinked HC.. Also, I don't want to sit back 1/2 of the time and let my friend do all the work because all of the monsters are immuned to my 1 elemental attack. So my question is basicly is: Do you really sit back alot of the time if you're 1 elemental? And, is there a good immune free/2 elemental build that can have enough damage for untwinked?

PS- No, no Hammerdins. Thanks you

Meteorb sorc can get the job done, also FA/LF Amazon.

PS sins are also VERY fun! :)

I thought about Meteorb. And Ama and Assa are itriding too, because I've never played them.
Will their untwinked damage (Meteorb's for example, since I know her the best( be enough for Hell?

And is there an "always active" build for an important supporter like Barb (BO), Pala (auras) and Necro (curses)? Because those look like they can make life much easier..

Oh, and will a Posion Nova Necro (with a little army for defense, curses and CE) will be viable?

Thanks, I have a lot of questions..=)

PS- The only PS Assa guide I've found said

"Although you could try to play this build a bit more defensively and take it into hardcore, it is most effective when played very aggressively and fits into softcore PvM the best".

Is that true? Do you guys know a better suiting guide?

Meteorb is plenty for co-oping hell. There is actually a good guide on it in the single player forum

Poison Nova will be much harder than than meteorb in hell due to gear requirements.

PS will be challenging, active, and fun. Obviously it has survivability issues, but it's also very fun!

OK, so after some more reading:
1. Meteorb seems like a sure bet. Almost always active, range, good damage and ofc- teleport
.
2. PS Sins sound fun (especially since I've never played Sin) but being melee sound a sure death for 1st times, with all those F/L enchanted bosses. IDK, but melee just seems like death for me.

3. Amaz are cool. I've understood the all bow is a problem with too dex>vita issues, so that LF/FA sound good. Range, almost no immunes problem and passive skills.

4. Why would PSN Necro be too gear depandent? Is dmg isn't enough with untwink gear in Hell, really? Even with Lower Resist?

So basically I can say that our 2 chars will be FA/LF Ama and Meteorb Sorc. Unless anybody has another interesting and safe build to offer?
Anyway, do you know of good untwink/hardcore guides of those build? I'm searching them as we speak, but if you know a good one that'd sure be easier (:
