Assassin Build The Dragon Master or One Point Wonder, One Hit Kill
This build is so that you can have a viable tank assassin that leaves plenty of wiggle room for seasoning to your tastes. The reason I wrote this is I was bored of trapping but also bored of every other class. So I looked at the assassin skills and realized there is a diamond within the rough that everyone ignores.....Dragon Claw. People ignore this skill because everyone thinks that Dragon Talon the kicking skill is better but I beg the differ. With 6 mana you can cast 1 kick. With 5 mana in this build you will one hit drop most opposition.
First off
Skills
Max out Claw Mastery.
This is usually not pumped up because trapsins don't melee and most “melee” builds for the assassin use blade fury.
Max out Dragon Claw
1 point in Tiger Strike, Cobra Strike (if wanted), Burst of Speed, Fire Blast, Blade Sentinel, Wake of Fire, Blade Fury.
1-10 points in Cloak of Shadows
This bad boy can either destroy a mobs ability to....well mob you or shut down archers from afar. Which is usually the downfall of many melee characters. Its worth the ten but like I said before this is a season to taste build so its up to you one is good enough.
10 points in weapon block.
This skill is a MUST HAVE 10 skill points, get hit half the time attacking or not. When your fighting a boss that is an invaluable chance to charge up tiger strike and/or cobra strike. Do not leave the skill out.
10-20 points in shadow master/warrior
This is really where it's up to you your shadow warrior while having CONSIDERABLY less health at max level than the master (it's roughly 1000 less health) she will only use the two skills you have equipped and normal attack. Which if you read the strategy section you will see that you always have two skills equipped and almost always working in combo such as tiger strike left click and dragon claw in right click. While shadow master does what shadow master wants. She has access to all the assasin skills and has a VERY bad habit of using mind blast when it's non beneficial to you. Personally I use the shadow master because in Hell that extra 1000 or so health is what makes or breaks you.
1-20 points in Blade Shield
I find that pumping twenty points into this bad boy while putting out a lot of damage usually exceeds your total mana so I usually only put 1 because it's a nice constant damage against bosses and gets pluses from your weapon's damage.
I didn't pump any skill points until level 10 and this is what my tree looked like
1 point in Burst of Speed, Dragon Talon, Tiger Strike, Psychic Hammer, Fire Blast, Blade Sentinel, Dragon Claw, and 3 points into Claw Mastery.
For your attributes.
I find that since Dexterity increases melee damage on your Claws and increases your AR and increases your defense then it should definitely be the highest stat.
Strength: enough to wear equipment roughly 80 tops
Dexterity: 180 at the end or more
Vitality: everything else
Energy: none
you may wonder why I say no energy. It's because there is enough rings and other items that increase your energy and if you put that point into cobra strike you can mana drain enough and have enough mana to really almost never run out though it is a good idea to keep a stock of mana pots cause you never know when a mob gets out of hand and you can't afford to change skills but you need mana that they come in great handy.
Equipment.
I play single player mostly (and I absolutely detest anyone who uses Hero Editor. It's EVIL) so I don't really get to pick and choose my equipment from trading.
Just use the best Claws you can find remember that you're looking for damage above ALL else though skill pluses are nice.
Armor: biggest defense period. Your insane dexterity will only serve to augment an armor with high defense.
Helms: This is where I get my energy pluses it's very easy to get such and such helm of the mind I get them from shops all the time so look for +energy vs. defense here.
Gloves: MF MF MF and sometimes when you can more MF. Hey assassins need money too.
Boots: increased walk/run is nice and sometimes MF but I never have any “uber boots”
Belt: more energy? Or more vitality? Eh belt's can go either way of they can fly off the wall and increase other things you aren't going to worry bout these too much
Rings: energy and mana drain and mana regen are what it's all about.
Amulets: I usually have an amulet of the mind of some sort but you can get rid of it as generally mana cots are low (except for max Blade Shield and max Shadow Master) so you can afford to drop this for a super good amulet.
Well that's about it for the build please comment I always enjoy feedback.
Thanks,
