So tonight while Im sitting at home enjoying my normal D2 nightly routine I clicked on the news to see that an Ice Storm was invading Texas . Yes 1" of ice is basically shutting down the entire Dfw metroplex and sourrounding areas . So I decided to leave early for work as it might be bad .. That was an understatement -- took me almost an hour and 10 minutes to get to work on a trip that normally takes me 20 - 25 minutes . The fact that these ignorant arse people cannot drive in the snowing mess and the roads do not get salted because this is usually a once a year thing .. All the bridges were Iced over and people were doing about 10 MPH on the freeway ..
Well that was bad - but then I got to work .... I work for a major telecom operation ( can u hear me now ) and what a mess it is here tonight . From Dallas to Pa , to Indianna , Ohio , and everywhere inbetween .. I hope you people living up that way have power cause its out almost everwhere in our phone switch offices .
This sucks and just figured Id let everyone know ... 4.5 hours till Im outta here - that is IF my relief decides to make it in to work ... GRRRRRRR !!
:alright:
Has this only been tonight?
My friend hasn't talked to me in a while. He lives in TX. Hopefully he's just hanging out with warm blooded women and cold beer.
Take care of yourself out there in the cold.

It happened starting yesterday around 6pm and will continue until 6pm tonight from what Iv'e seen .. And not talking to your friend in Texas who's wrapped around some warm blooded woman is a good thang !!

Yar!
"Also my heater broke last night before I left for work and its 32 degrees in my house"
Geez Dave, better open up your cabinets to your sinks to try and get some heat in there, that's dangerous close to pipe freezing temps. Plumber's are expensive, and skipping a one on one view of the dude's hairy crack is priceless.
If TX is shutting down over an inch , I'd cant imagine what they'd do if they had our weather today. It's supposed to snow all day and night here, and the radio guy just said 18-26" of snow is due here. Since I'm in the Western Mt's ( 1 hour between at least 5 major ski MTs) we'll likely get the higher side of the snowstorm.
In 1998 we had a killer ice storm that knocked out power for much of the state for awhile. It also devastated a huge number of power poles and trees-limbs. My family lost power for 2 weeks. Thankfully we had a wood stove, but things were rough for a bit.
I know you've had a rough year with driving, so please be careful and watch out for those nuts!
The statistic guys say that there's an accident on the road every 3.2 seconds. I say you should drive as fast as possible then to reduce your time on the road thereby minimizing your chance of accident :P
I figured out a neat build concept last night/this morning too. I did a pretty intensive search, and I didnt see anyone doing my plan.
The beauty of phnx strike on a sin is its tri damage and it's ability to be used with any wep. I was going to max tiger strike for 2K ed% and pair this up with max phnx strike and claws of ice. With a doom wep you have massive phy damage for tiger. It's also really speedy. The real beauty of this item is it's -60 enemy cold res. With the usual skill type gear, your looking at about 1500 chaos ice blasts before -res and conviction. This will put it at orb damage. Cant argue with -140 enemy res either!
The doom wielding Phnx striker is now underway! (I'm level 20) I wonder how this will compare to my riftsin build. The damage is higher on this, but the proc rate is a bit slower. More to come on this.
I'm looking at a 8fpa attack on this axe , not bad!

It is really sad that one inch of snow can shut the entire city down . Im from Akron , Ohio and remember walking to school in the snow up to my knees so I can only laugh at these dumbasses here .
That said they know its a once a year thing and when it does happen its a mess for a few days . School , businesses , and everythign else shut down . I bet insurance salesmen love it though .. And today it warmed up to 45 degrees and all the ice is melted away and were back to normal again ..
And my heater dethawed and unfroze and is working just fine again ..
Ps - cant wait to see your new sin in action , my pally is waiting to eat up some hell mode ...
Arkansas here, we're 5 days without power. Been doing a lot of single player using an inverter to power my laptop...
Dedication?
Been 32 degrees in the morning in Austin, haven't even gone to classes due to not wanting to get out of warm bed.
