So in my quest to rebuild my main magic find sorc due to bad skill / stat placement I've managed to use up most of my decent resist charms after killing her the first time . Iv'e managed to acumilate a mools stash worth of perfect gems since Iv'e been rebuilding her . I searched for but found no info on rolling charms for the Best Resists - like a 15 all Gc or Small single elements or something along those lines .. I really need to roll a couple nice Lightning res smalls and maybe a Fire or two before I start porting to Baal again .. Is there a specific charm that gets good Resist rolls or is it totally random ?

Ah charms are the seduction of HC play are they not? Just about always the toughest thing about a deeds. I've had really bad luck this season finding &/or rolling small resist charms. I have two mules worth of life charms, and one mule for resists and it's mostly empty. I probably got a few grands that I could toss your way that would help with Lighting & Fire resist if you want 'em.

Ya deeds on a HC character is the worst , especially once ya get your charms set up for Hell .. I always like to have max fire , cold , and lightning at least .. Loosing my only Anni really set me back on my sorc so Im hurting in Lr now . I think I have like 63 / 75 / 45 / 39 res in hell atm ..

So yea a Grand Lr would be lovely if ya have a spare . But Id like to try rolling a few just to see what I get , not sure it matters what kind I roll though ...

I always keep all my smalls from hell for re-rolling. Seems like I remember there's a "sweet spot" ilvl-wise when it comes to rolling charms but I'm not sure. I'll see if I can dig something up.

A Guide to Charms (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=403178)

It lists the ilvl of all mods, you should be able to find the mod you want and match it up with an area.

I'm so late for work now, crap.

Yes! that is exactly what I was thinking of, an excellent guide. Geez, late for work because of a Diablo related thing? Can't imagine that! Never happened to me, ever! :whistling:

That guide is great! I'm going to roll some Baal small charms and see what I get now!

That is a good guide. It looks quite a bit easier to use than this. (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/charms.shtml)
In a nutshell, any sc from late nightmare on will get you what you need. I've rerolled sc's quite a bit, they are your best bet.

I once found (not rolled) a 15all-res (shimmering Ilvl35),23 life(sustenance Ilvl31) GC with a level req. of 28 (Ilvl35) in A1 NM. :jig: This sent me off on a campaign to try and roll another one using NM charms under Ilevel 50 (skillers). It is not worth the time IMO, though I did roll plain 13&15 allres GCs after a bazillion tries.

Personally, I like to MF in Ancient Tunnels as an additional part of my run for charms.

Sure, you get a lot of random useless mods but it seems to work out for me. Didn't intend it but one night of MFing netted me 5 30+ life larges, 3 vita scs and a few res all charms of various assortments. I'm sure it was jut an anomaly, but seeing as nothing is CI and there's very little elemental damage (horror mages are it i think) you can get away with running the whole place with an MF switch up.

Also if you can find a good way to work it into your run you'll end up accumulating a ton of flawless to give you an extra few cracks at the useless SCs.

For Rolling your best bet is NM Flayer Jungle iirc. Correct ilvl and lots of mobs for lots of drops, it does however tend to get tedious at least for me.

Cheers
