Hey! I am jumping back into diablo and I have all kinds of questions about a new build. I focused on a Bone Spear Necro last round and am now attempting a Melee character.
I plan on making a tank Fury Werewolf. I have a few questions...
1. Which is better to focus on Tank Mentality.... Vita or Def? I realize that def does not reduce damage so I guess what is a good point to get my Def?
2.Which is a better way to raise my life total: Increasing my Vita stat points or Increasing my Skill points?
3. What is a good alternative to ribcracker: is a 1 hand weapon and shield better for tanking? If so what is a good combination ?
4. Is there a link to breakpoints for werewolves?
5. Is there a good link for skill tree plans? Is there a link for a fake skill tree i can play with?
6. Is there any good Rare modifiers that can roll for boots or should i just stick with Uniques?
Links to any of this information is appreciated. Also if you would like to respond I would be glad to hear any thoughts
Thank you!
1) Vitality is much more important than defense with werewolves. They can have 10k life due to lycan, oak, and bo, so you definitely want to get this as high as possible.
2) Why not do both? You will probably want to max lycanthropy and maybe put some in oak sage to raise your life.
3) You didn't mention whether you were doing pvp or pvm, but ribcracker is fine for pvm.
4) Check the stickies.
5) Don't think that you can link to stuff like that, but google it somewhere along the lines of diablo 2 skill planner....
6) Boots can spawn with good mods, but you will probably want to stick to gore riders with your fury wolf due to the many desirable melee mods.
For a shape shifter faster run/walk is important so your best bet is either aldurs or IK well that's my opinion anyway

Most, if not all, of the information you're requesting is in the stickies. Please refer to there, then, if you have any further questions, post them here.

1) vita. once you play druids for a while you will realize defense is pointless to worry about.
2) both. druids got many sources of life. lycan, oak sage, +life items getting multiplied by lycan/oak sage.
3) ribcracker is probably the most solid pvm weapon. 1h/shield is more pvp.
4) check the stickied thread at the top of this forum
5) google d2 skill planner
6) gores/aldurs have always been my favourite

Puma and Bjam have excellent wolf guides that are fairly cheap. If you've got some wealth to abuse, I have a Lazywolf (minimal stash swapping) guide as well, though it's not stickied. Last but not least, for the safest HC Patriarch ever, SuperJason's fireclaws bear, with proper application of Shockwave and shael runes is virtually unkillable, due to how pone they are at stunning enemies and keeping them stunned. Hope this gives you some starting points...
