running the maggot lair on all difficultys, perhaps wearing mf gear.

does any1 know what the monster lvl is in hell maggot?

just that molten boulder rocks there, physical and fire damage all the monsters a lined up waititing to be cooked

EDIT: i mean making a druid specifically for running maggot, he could get into the low 90s hopefully and find some decent stuff too

Works. I don't recall there being FIs in Maggot and the closed in space is as perfect as you'll get for boulder raping.

I'm too lazy to check AS but I think they're mid to upper 70's.

cool, i dont want to make the guy if i wont be able to get good experience from maggot, high 80;s/low 90's is the goal, including the exp ill get from champs, uniques etc.

i remember some beetles are mlvl 85, but im not sure if they are in maggot

i wont be able to get infinity or anything, would be starting from scratch hcl, ofc ill be able to convert pgems from classic to xpac

edit: whre is AS?

Actually, the monsters in Maggot Lair lvl 2 & 3 are as high as those in the Pits, Ancient Tunnels etc, so some nice and rare things can drop there, like Tals armor and such.

cool now ill definately make this guy nice 1 sex-e :)

2 things:

where is this thingy that tells you the monster lvl : AS?

would you say molten boulder is the best choice to clearing maggot lair, accoring to the definative fire druid it is, but according to edfromrussias fire guide, apparently other fire skills will do beter in maggot, but molten boulder in maggot should rape them easily, i mean think about how tghe monsters wait in line to be owned

I can tell you from my personal experience that moulten boulder works great in maggot lar, as well as other act 2 areas.

I made a full aldurs set (+medusa gaze and low fire facets everywhere) fire druid with 20 fissure 20 boulder 20 firestorm 20 volcano and currently putting 20 in gheddon, 1 pt oak sage.

boulder rocks for rolling down the tunnels, as well as the narrow passages of the arcane sanctuary, also for destroying mobs of skeletons that like to clog the doorways in tal tasha's tomb.

firestorm also works quite nice in close areas. keep in mind boulder won't work well against large creatures, so use volcano and fissure against those. fire immunes are a non-issue with moulten boulder's high physical damage. I actually use it as my preferred skill against fire immunes. I play on West scl if you want to see it in action.

cool man

the skill layout i have planned is

20 firestorm
20 moletn boulder
20 volcano
1+ oak sage

rest of points to whereever, mabye grizzly, mabye another fire skill

the plan is to run maggot lair and other act2 areas similar in layout, meaning the monsters wait in line to get owned by molten boulder

according to my friend the monsters in lvl 2 and 3 of maggot are the same as in pits, so i shouldnt have trouble getting to the low 90's, should be a cakewalk

can anyone add in 2 cents about a fire skill that will beat molten boulder when it comes to maggot lair exclusively?

bump

can any veteran druid players tell me if any other fire skils will beat molten boulder in killing speed, in the maggot lair, with no infinity merc

Not from my personal experience running a Fire Druid. Fissure needs more room, Cano won't go off half the time. Firestorm MAYBE but it doesn't chain stun like Boulder. Geddon won't outdo it either.

Ive never tried the MB version , but here's the numbers

Molten Boulder
launch a boulder of flaming hot magma
that knocks back your enemies

Current Skill Level: 35
Damage: 1020-1140
Fire Damage: 884-988
Average Fire Damage: 853-864 per second
Mana Cost: 27

Its is fun running a blaze sorc thru that level (and zons with pierce) My Firewall sorc on classic used her one point blaze for most of that level and I couldnt help but think this would be a great lvl 85 maggot runner.

Blaze would get

Blaze
creates a wall of fire
in your wake to scorch your enemies

Current Skill Level: 35
Fire Duration: 37.6 seconds
Average Fire Damage: 2846-2915 per second
Mana Cost: 28

Walk along , walk backwards watch them die, rinse and repeat

The druid version needs 60 points for that MB , while the sorc only needs 40 to get her damage. So while she gives up the phy attack, she's plenty of points to pick up another element. As a bonus she can tele to the maggot layer that much faster. But since this is the druid forum. Druids > squishy sorcs

When I make my Fireclaw druids I invest in MB and its syngeries since it's handy in chaos and around im. Bowling!

The strategy compendium at http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=551 has the areal levels, which are the same as monster levels for NM and Hell. Maggot Lair 1/2/3 has lvl 84/84/85, so that will serve levelling well.

-Fire resists from Ravenlore/facets (expensive) or a wand of lower resist charges (cheap) may be quite useful as well.
