How much Strength for my Fishy?

Hey guys,

Built my first Fishymancer a week ago. Having lots of fun with, have the gear all lined up.. But how much Strength should I shoot for? The +Strength bonus on the Enigma I'm planning to use should be plenty, right?
But how do I get to the 100+ Strength I need for that? Is it wise to invest, or should I wait until I get to the level where I can use Torch/Anni to boost me? Since I'm planning to solo Hell, that Enigma would really come in handy before I reach level 75. Strength charms, perhaps? Anything else I'm forgetting?

The minimum Strength you'll need, post-charms, is 58. That gives you Enigma Mage Plate (exceptional armor), Homunculus, Harlequin Crest, etc. Going for Enigma in an Elite armor isn't truly required.

However, a Fishymancer is very customizable, so if you would like to go with different gear and a high Strength requirement, there's no real problem with that. Various builds/players suggest gear other than the minimum; for example, a (ranged?) weapon and Crushing Blow can be handy for Baal runs. I'm just recommending at least 58.

Alright, thanks for the reply.
So, given my situation (not all that rich, happy with the high Str. req Eni I have, not willing to buy another one..), should I buff my Strength now or wait for Torch/Anni?

it seems you are really at the beginning of your d2 career so just spend the str you need and play with that !
you will always find things you can improve and build a new char !
my favourite char has always been a boner (pvp!) and i´ve had 7 boners in 95-97 range just because i i had to rebuild them due to game changes or little mistakes - whatever !
spend your points according to the gear you have, when youre richer u can easily rebuild a better one (<- this repeats on&on&on)

It depends on your patience.

I tend to spend enough to get @ 50 str and not make my life a living hell, then I use rings or what have you to get my gear on. Then throw on the enigma and I'm golden til I die again which is really really rare.

There is no need if you have the patience, which I don't, to ever spend a point of strength on a fishy.

Hm... your torch kicks in at level 75. Enigma has a level requirement of 65. To be honest, I start with NM Baal runs somewhere in my 50s and don't stop before level 75. There's no reason to wear Enigma in Baal runs where you mostly just leech experience, anyway.

put in the minimum amount of str as you can....you will get plenty from items also a mp nigma will do plenty good as well....no need for ap nigma
