So im remaking my pvp ww barb, and ofc I cant remember what weapons I used.

I swear I used ebotdz and beastz, but I know grief+beast is better. Is grief considered bm for the ignores defense thing?(does that even apply in pvp(so much I cant remember :/ )) So was there any reason at all to use ebotdz over grief or was I just stupid, or to lazy to get a good grief or something?

tldr: Is there any reason at all to use ebotd over grief in pvp?

"Ignore target defense" has no effect against players (or bosses, for that matter). I don't PVP, so I wouldn't know the rest.

Grief berserker axe will total more damage, but ebotdz will free up more stat's to give you more life. It's a trade off. Generally more people use a 34% grief over the ebotd for pvp, and use ebotd for pvm. Personally I'd rather have an ethereal death cleaver for pvp with a fury for offhand, but that's just me.

Ya I remembered my logic last night.

I used ebotdz + beastz.

Mainly like you said to free up stat points, botd in a zerker needs 101 str, beast needs 138, but botd gives 30 to all, so +30 vita and essentially another +30 vita from points that would have been used in str with other setups, and another +30 vita from saved dex used to get maxblock with ss.

Yeah depends on your criteria I guess. Thing is, if you were a PvP barb that was BvC, and you stuck with enigma/ no shield, then ebotdz bonus would only be worth the +30vita = 120 life not effected by BO. Thats not a good trade off when you could get better damage every hit.

BvA can make good use of it if he's main is grief+beast+nig a ebotd+ss+fort+arreats can get some nice strength and dex bonus for mb. There's also the high life leech on it useful in some duels as well and 60 ias for zerking.

I know what you mean. But look at it another way, Greifz seems to dominate in duels that are BvB related. So if Griefz gives the best damage for both BvB & BvC, then why go with a weaker weapon for a BvA, where a BvA tends to already be-- weaker then a BvB vs melee, and weaker then a BvC vs Casters? Also, who would you be Berzerking other then Necro's? Berzerk is still going to be very fast with Greif N Beast in the off hand.

Edit: The idea of greif/beast nig and ebotd/ss/fort as an alternate sounded a bit better after I re-read.

I use a ebodz+beastz(ss on switch) fort, arreats. One because I cant afford another nig/grief right now lol. And two it works surprisingly well as bva. I use a little diffrent strat that most people though instead of tele. I put one point in frenzy, so when Im going to hunt down a sorc or some other "run away" class I go frenzy a few fallen(or some druids pets) to get that crazy faster r/w(it should desync you) and just go chase them down. Especially for sorces, you can usually kill them in one ww coming out of the desync run before they know whats happening.
