high level barb question

I am working on a barb, and I have a question about the defense... I have a very poor attack rating and a very good chance of getting hit myself... my strength, vitality, and dex, are all at 100, with many points I still need to put in. They say in all the builds to put everything spare into vitality, however, this doesnt make sense with my low attack rating and high chance to be hit. Im not sure how this worked out... should I put all my extra stuff into dex? because i can hardly hit anybody.

also, what is the max chance to block amount? 75%? 95%? something else? I need to knwo so I can get this number reached.

Typically, Barb basic build is str= enough to equip items, dex= enough to reach 75% block(max) if you're a shielded barb, energy=none, vita= the rest.

You really shouldn't pump dex for AR due to lousy returns. Your best bet is to use items like Raven Frost rings, Angelic ring/ammy combo, or even some decent rares until you can get into those.

Also, along with your maxed weapon mastery of choice and your maxed main attack skill + some decent charms, you should be ok.

I would also say if you are going to be using a shield, try to get yourself a shield with high block on it, so you don't waste alot of dex trying to keep up with a dumpy block%.

Orphans set shield is an extreamly cheap nd ez shield to find, Whitstans gaurd i think its called, look in to it you should be able to scoop one up for pgems

I love that shield with a P-diamond or a Eld for max Block

IMO the most versetile shield in the game, pair it with guilles helm for extra mods
