I am making a nova mancer and I wanted to know what the best option is as far a summons. I was thinking i could get a decent fire golem to take damge and kill some things. Or i could get some skele's to use splitting points between that and skele mastery. Which one would be better in the long run.

My stuff right now is:
Shako
Trang's Scales
Trang's Belt
Trang's Wing
Trang's Gloves
Spirit Sword
+1 nec skills ammy
Goblin toe boots
Non-notable rings
With all this i get +8 to all skills

So that said what is that best thing to put my points in, after maxing mova and its syns and getting LowRes with one point in each prereq, to get me a good summon?

For PvP a 1-pt Fire Golem is useful to kill off players at 1 hp. In PvM it's a bad choice IMO. A 1-pt Clay Golem will be much more useful.

The most common choice is Revives, because it only costs a few points to get lvl1 Revive which means you will have 10+ of them. Skellies is also possible but they won't be very strong because you need about 70 points for poison skills and Lower Resist.

You can also go without summons, or with only a Clay Golem. Simply put about 10 pts in Dim Vision. IMO this is the most fun alternative. At lvl 20 (incl bonuses) Dim Vision will blind all monsters on-screen. Next you poison them. Then you cast Lower Resist on immunes and poison them as well. The great thing of this variant is that you will also have enough points to get Lower Resist high enough to break immunities.

Concerning your gear, I have the following suggestions:
- Switch Spirit Sword for Blackbog's Sharp (+4 to nova, very cheap)
- Switch Goblin Toe for any boots with 30-40% FRW.
- If you use 4 items of Trangs you might as well use the last (the helm instead of Shako) for all the bonuses you get: 50% to all resists, +3 skills, ...

I would recommend Death's Web over Blackbog's Sharp, the -50% enemy resist insanely increases kill speed. But Death's Web is WAY more expensive.

Obviously DWeb is better, but considering the items gmf listed I figured he was on a budget.
