So.... it has been a rather slow time for us lore fans.... Since the release of the trailers and official website, we've been high and dry. Granted, we have had a lot of information to work with, but no direction. Then there's always the plot holes and loops we're all trying to figure out. Hopefully, that will all change with a good Site update of something new for us, but not likely until the next class or another gamplay footage.
Well while we're having this dry season, let's dig into some stuff we already have and see if any would have any possible ideas.

Now this... who or what is it? Flux put it in the monsters category, but I think it's something else. It doesn't give me the
"what is it?"
"I don't know! let's kill it anways!"
...Feeling. However this one does:

Back to the first, I'm thinking it's some sort of summon or NPC. It's origins could possibly by of a magical element of the another world.... But who knows? Maybe it's just a monster, but it just doesn't feel like it.

This is obviously a mix of HG:L and the last movie of pirates of the carribeans. So we will have to go in the sea, and in the future

This monster looks like a young shaman! But not very "evil"... Maybe a holy enemy?
My comments were kind of sarcastic... but I just wanted to point that I kind of gave up in lore guessing. Anything can happen, literraly. DESPAIR!:jig:

lol true.
But that "holy enemy" is not a bad reccomendation at all! nice job, even if it was sarcastic. If in Diablo 3 we are to fight any force of heaven then we better have something to kill!

heres a thought, if it is a "holy enemy" then have we herd anything about the inhabitants of the high heavens that are NOT angels... im no lore expert but i dont think we have.
I never considered the idea of there being anything else than angels up there :|.
Good thinking, but we don't have too much to work with in that area.

True true, but it does tickle the imagination about a possible act in the High Heavens. It'd probably epic and mysterious. Given the situation too, it could be frightening.
adventure is heaven is a distinct possibility. We know from Inarius that while angels might be good, they are not benevolent. That means they are nice to eachother but think the mortals are mere playthings. As long as it's a hostile zone, and NOT the last act, I'm sure to like anything Blizz does in that area. I imagine things like misty moors where everything is greyish white, but twisted and alien. Crystal palaces where angels do unspeakable things to mortals out of pleasure or boredom.

the first picture is a shaman the other is some sort of sea monster (cthulhu inspired).

Any adventure in heaven would probably resemble the arcane sanctuary, only updated graphics and other effects.

I think the lore stated that living mortals canīt survive a visit to heaven?
But of course there are ways to get around that, a golden potion found somewhere or simply having a borderline act..Heavens gate or similar.

that's quite interesting, have you got a quote to back up, mortals not surviving...? if you do then good stuff, but i've never come accross it myself.
mortals shouldnt be able to survive in hell... but that didn't stop us the last two times! :jig:
