Electrocute

I have seen the wizard videos, and one pretty good improvement to electrocute would be it should be faster.

It should pass through multiple enemies quickly, not stay in the same spot for 5 secs, from the caster's hands. It would be cool to use it as one of the skills to destroy armies of monsters quickly.

I agree, however I'm guessing they're trying to avoid the Chain Lightning from D2. Maxed out with a few good items had Baal's minions dropping left and right. With it being slower, it'll still pack a punch and do its job. With the new pot situation, I'd rather be casting stronger and mroe effective spells rather than faster and weaker spells.

I'm guessing that they're trying to avoid mass killing sprees that we had in D2. In D2 you could have a solid build that would take one the whole difficulty level with the same effects and speed, but that was just the level you were at at the time. With D3, they'll probably have a curved difficulty stand point where the gameplay is going to be the same if not little difference in killing speed for the progressing acts, while of course the previous acts will go by easily. So probably no single character instant killing mobs with easy, more like a fishymancer's army going *wack wack, takes a few steps, waits for minions to kill, takes another few steps, rinse and repeat*.

But then again we can't forget end game to tier gear/runes/skills/level/ect!

It will probably get faster with skill runes as noted. The spells are likely designed to look unimpressive when you first get them. There must be room for progression.

Idk I like the way it looked in the videos. Its wasnt too overwelming yet cool. Im sure its going to more badass as you improve it...like SoulSpectrum and Stillman said.

I hope the art becomes more, I don't know, threatening with more points on it. I mean, in D2 (and please don't just say, "lol this not d2 f**) lightning & chain lightning made these huge torrents of electricity rush from your hands, and it looked burning, white hot. Not it's this little jolt of blue static, which looks like it would even damage something like Leoric or the Siege Beast. In fact, all the lightning spells in D2 looked, to me, more impressive than the blue ones in D3.


But then again, we do have disintegrate, so. . .

Electrocute is not Chain Lightning.
It is just like regular Lightning.
You get the chain effect by adding a Multistrike rune to it.

Why does everyone forget the new rune system?

DemolitionSquid makes a good point, remember the Rune system. It's an exciting addition to skills and is going to give them such diversity.

The 'chain' on electrocute increases with Multistrike or with Lethality there's a nova explosion on impact as well.

Electrocute seemed pretty fast to me. I don't think it should be any faster than it worked at Blizzcon.

I think the lethality graphic looks really terrible and I hope they change it to something more reminiscent of nova in d2.

I like the way it looks. Imo, it looks much better then the blue or yellow graphic in D2 that was supposed to be a nova. The new one looks like it packs more of a physical punch.

didn't read whole thread, but electrocute isn't chain lightning simply because electrocute+multistrike=chain lightning.
