:)

I have recently started playing D2/LoD single player. I like the Paladin, and so started a Paladin character. A few days ago, I discovered this web site, and read up as much as I can.

I restarted the character, using /players 8 and concentrating on Zeal (with Sacrifice to start off with ...) and have REALLY enjoyed playing this. :D I am sure I've made some mistakes allocating points; but am having a lot of fun. (I am only level 16, so have got quite a way to go ... )

One question : I notice that for Zeal, everyone says "don't allocate any points to energy (mana)". But I found the mana running out really quickly using Zeal and might togther ... What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for all the great advice

Tim

Hi! You might need a ##% Mana Stolen Per Hit item...

You have no Mana Leech, but at such a low level that's hardly a knock against you. It's always better to get Mana Leech from Rings/Gloves/Amulets or something else like that other than weapons since you want your weapon to have as much Damage as possible on it (and +damage/+mana leech weapons are not common enough to worry about in Single Player).

Just use one of your four belt slots for mana potions. They drop readily enough off of unique monsters and you don't really need to use them that often if your Zeal damage is high enough. At higher levels you'll have access to Meditation and Redemption and turning those on for a moment to recover Mana when you get low is always a good idea. You might also land a Manald Heal which is a solid ring for low-level melee characters with the Mana Leech and Life.

Great, thanks!

I'm off to find a "leech mana 100% in 1 second" amulet ... :D

Seriously, I see what you mean - I will look around for something that does that - I have already poicked up all sorts of stuff, and just need to examine carefully what I have.

Thanks again

:) Found a "+1 Mana per kill" ring last night. Sorted out my mana issues real quick ... :D

That works, too.

:D I found my first Rune yesterday. :D It's only an Eld .... but I was beginning to think I would never find one.

I'm finding the game easier now. I'm cLvl 17, and have just killed the Countess in the Tower - it was much easier than the last time I did it. Zeal is great!

Thanks again ...

for mana leech you can socket a skull in your weapon.
but % mana leech in a ring is optimal.

manald heal is kind of cheap and works perfect for mana regeneration

you coul also try frostburn gloves:).
