View Full Version : The Wizard's Left Hand
It's always caught my eye how the female Wizard's character design often involves clothing of asymmetrical design. However, what I've only just recently realized is that her left hand is often gloved in a metallic gauntlet. Then, in the Class Selection (http://www.google.co.uk/url?q=http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/index.xml&sa=X&oi=smap&resnum=1&ct=result&cd=1&usg=AFQjCNEFzU2nytadAn6Vh_sUaWNq8GEQWw) page on the official site, she uses her left hand to call upon lightning.
Finally, there's this bit in her lore:
She was continually being caught seeking out dangerous and forbidden magics, heedless of the consequences to herself or anyone around her.
All of this started me wondering: is there anything different about her left hand? Could it be that it's becoming or has already become twisted/corrupted from all the dark and dangerous magic she's been manipulating?
Bit of a stretch. I don't see them going out of their way to create a class-specific plot-twist.

Actually, since we will have class specific quests, I don't see why they wouldn't have class specific plot points. Especially since each character is going to have a fairly detailed backstory.

"...heedless of the consequences to herself or anyone around her."
This helps support my argument that the wizard is evil, or at least not much of a "good-guy", so she may as well just kneel before Satan/Diablo and say "Where's my soulstone? So I plunge it into my forehead right?"
Since when is being reckless = evil?
Probably not that she's evil, but all the magic could still be affecting her, then we have some magic affecting her own body.
It sounds as an interesting source of class specific quests.

i always thought of the people who were never reckless to be more capable of true evil. satan always comes off as a very sly and manipulative ummm person demon thing lol. anyway point is i agree, reckless does not = evil

evil is never reckless. foolishness, that is reckless. evil is manipulative and expoiting other for one's own cause, without remorse. fools are the first prey of evil.
Definitely agree with the sentiment. Recklessness is not the same as being evil. After all, God created humans. If that wasn't reckless, I don't know what is. :D

Speaking of backstory-driven plots, does anyone else think the Wizard will have a quest to revive Valthek (http://www.diablowiki.net/Valthek)?

Well, according to the wiki, he's not dead. So reviving is out, but if you mean awakening him, maybe.
God created humans.
You sure? .

Same difference. I used 'revive', which also means to bring back to consciousness/resuscitate, just so people didn't mistake the Wizard for a human alarm clock.
You sure? .
Well, it's either Him or Joe Pesci (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeSSwKffj9o).
Or the sun! :jig:
hilarious clip!

I'm guessing either decorative or focal devices. Love or hate HGL, I thought that was a great idea to make weapons relevant to casters, as old as it probably is. Ever since Hellboy I thought it was badass to have wicked looking glove things enhancing your powers.
