View Full Version : Am I ready for Ubers?

Hey everyone,

I've checked out lots of Ubersmiter builds lately, and I think I've gotten my Paladin to the point where he should be able to take on the Really Big Three. Since I used most of my currency to get the items for this char, my wealth isn't too great at the moment, and I'm not keen on wasting Keys/Organs. I'd like your professional opinions on this.

The build I used:
20 Holy Shield
20 Smite
20 Defiance
20 Fanaticism
1 Redemption

I have some points to spare. Should I drop some in Zeal?

The gear I'm using:
-Guillaume's Face, Um'd
-'Duress' runeword, 1200ish defense
-'Grief' Phase Blade, self-rolled. Not sure about the stats, not sure which are important.
-Up'd 196 Herald of Zakarum. I have a socketing quest reward still. My resistances are all nearing 75. What should I put in here?
-Verdungo's Hearty Cord, medium stats.
-Dracul's Grasp, medium stats.
-Up'd Gorerides, medium-high stats.
-Mara's, 26
-Ravenfrost
-Dwarf Star

I also have a Lifetap wand and a CtA.

I have a medium Pala torch, a medium Anni, an Offensive skiller, lots of Vita charms, some high Poison Damage charms (inventory wasn't full yet..) and a friend standing by to mule the new Torch.

Should I just go for it?
Should I try to trade away all my keys and get an Organ Set instead?
Should I get more skillers?
More Vita charms?
More of something else..?
Any help is much, much appreciated.

-Jack

def doesnt matter vs them
%dr doesnt rly matter either
if ur res is 300, ur perfectly fine... + if ur friend = hammerdin... even easier just make sure he's last to join the game.. n have him sit in the corner spamming hammers u can just run into the demons no prob no minions on ur *** either
they'll keep spawning on the hammerdin n ur 100% safe

Man, i was killing ubers with a lot less than that and with just 1 point in smite. Put a perfect diamond in that zaka if you want max resistances. A lot of resistances is a good thing, especially when you face mephisto, who has a nasty conviction aura, assuming you don't use salvation.

From personal experience, the most difficult uber is lilith.

Thanks a lot!
Do you reckon this char can tackle Izual, Duriel and Lilith too, then?

It is advantageous to use a zeal build to do the lillith and other organ runs. However, you can clear that area out with almost any cookie cutter charater and finish off the boss with a pure smiter like yours.

Alright then.. Infi Lightsorc for organ runs? Talon/trapper?

Sorry for all these question, I'm just completely clueless on this subject..

infi is better as you can use items like griffons, CM, facets to increase damage to broken light immunes and still do a lot of damage. Trapper light is unaffected by these items above.

I would say a hammerdin, infi light (with above items), necro summoner, maybe melee druid and barb can do the above areas. I think there may be more classes ive forgotten.

Just be really careful in Furnace since Iron Maiden would kill you instantly. Definitely use a second character to clear that area unless you want to try a bow switch or something.

Also keep on hand a couple of full juvs for emergencies and get 1 pt Salvation for Meph. Make sure you also have mana potions in your belt for Baal and his mana burning minions.

Otherwise, you're perfectly set to clear the ubers away in less than a minute. ;)

Awesome, guys. Thanks a lot! Putting an offer on a perfect lightning RBF as we speak..
Still need that Griffon's, but I'll try without one.

Thanks again. Tristram, here I come!
