The 1 pt fire mastery ES Orb Sorc, doable?

Hi,

Having read the "enchantless" (not a typo, as ssog would say) guidelines out there, and most working on a standard ES sorc with orb and CM, I thought it would be interesting to use very little points to get something out of my ES/orb sorc...

20 Telekenisis
20 Orb
20 Warmth
5 CM (planning to take it as far as I can after maxing warmth)

I figured since I will be pumping warmth to 20, and using demon limb for the lvl 23 enchant, why not add fire mastery in it as well? With +skill equipments I'm looking at a FM of around lvl 10.

This would give me 470-599 fire damage, which I can use on my insight/prayer merc, adding that nice fire damage all for ONE extra point! Cold immunes be gone!

That's quite good for ONE point investment... If my calc is right, and provided I could put in 19 more points into FM (I doubt it), my damage due to the limited lvl 23 enchant would be:

811-1034... So 19 skill points for double the damage, bleh...

What do you guys think? Or, should I cut down on CM and devote more to FM?

Definitely at least 1 in FM. Maybe more if you can squeeze it. Depending on your amount of +skills, you might consider dropping a few points in CM or ES, but I think your main plan is pretty good. I think that you should decide when you get to hell and can tell which element you find to be 'weakest'.

Either way, I doubt you'll be a powerhouse, but I'm sure you'll be viable.

Are you using enchant on yourself too, a FO/melee hybrid? If so, I'd just go 1 point in CM and dump the rest in FM, since remember FM gives you double bonus on your enchant damage....once when you cast it, and then again when you hit a target. Plus with +skills, 1 point in CM goes a long way since returns diminish

I would consider less points in ES. I built two sorcs with ES, one hade 20tk+20es, the other 20tk+1es, and the diference wasnt huge. after 12 +skills the 20/20 build had 85% dr and the 20/1 build had around 70% dr. just a thought.

I thought synergies only worked with CTC procs and not skills with charges like enchant on the demon limb. I thought they fixed that in 1.12

They didn't fix anything in "1.12", as far as I'm aware. :p

... And you can synergize spells received from charges, such as Enchant on DemonLimb.
