can anyone help! just recently purchased diablo 1 to re-live the good times i had with it when i was younger. however i cant get it to work on battlenet. ive got windows vista. i read up online and have downloaded v1.09 patch, but ever time i try to install it, it says 'this program is used to upgrade programs through battle.net and does not need to be run'. However i get a pre patch text document appear which says:

Blizzard PrePatch v2.23 compiled on Mar 17 2000
This program patches Diablo retail version

Log created at 7:23 pm on 10/29/2008

RESULT: Prepatch successful

When i go back into Diablo 1 its still version 1.00. Ive tried uninstalling diablo and trying it again but the same thing happens.

I would really appreciate if anyone could help me????

Thanks

Jacob

Lag is something your ISP (service provider) can sort out, hopefully. It depends to some extent on how fast your connection is.

i've recently experience the lag too high problem. Since battlenet was designed while people were on 26k modems if you have broadband then your connection speed is clearly not the issue. From what i've heard firewall and router settings make it so the game can't communicate properly with your computer. I can play b.net just fine in a game by myself, however if i try to join one with a friend it gives me the error.
